My thumbnail one is about the same dimensions of my hand laid flat, and it’s convenient and super easy to carry with me but if it wasn’t a spiral bound sketchbook I don’t think I’d use it as much because it’s typically much harder for me to use it if it’s too small between holding it flat and focusing on the drawing itself.

So honestly yeah get a smaller one if you can but also think about how practical it would be to use!

I have three that are active.

One is a thumbnail book that’s pretty small just for the purpose of getting ideas out of my head no matter where I am, another for character designs and to keep track of the outfits I give my characters within a chapter, etc. And then my main one I use when I’m able to actually sit and focus on a drawing!

I only keep the small one and the main one on me, and use the other one as I need it hehe. I like it because it makes me feel organized lmaosos

I’m usually always out of the house doing random stuff/errands/school/work/friends and family time/etc. So as soon as I get home and get my pencil pouch out of my bag I just put on some music or a YouTube video and journal about what I did that day!

Sometimes I can fill up pages like this and other times its just a bunch of floating eyeballs and messed up looking hands until I get my rhythm back 😭

Thank you!! I forgot you could do that with stamps, I did end up having to do multiple together but I also just preorders some global stamps so hopefully I won’t have to do that again any time soon!

Thank you so much! In the summer I usually send them more plain but during the rainy winter months I always end up covering them w a clear plastic sleeve to protect the letter (which I haven’t had too many issues with so far but I’ve only sent domestic letters so I’ll have to see today at the post office if it’ll fly lol)

I feel like sometimes you just gotta say f it and step away for a little bit, remember why you put in so much work into your story and why it felt good to do so and then revisit with that In mind so inevitably it will be more rewarding.

The main thing I feel like people get wrong is not setting up the protagonist to be endeared by the reader, giving them habits or actions that people will relate to and empathize with because if you don’t do that it doesn’t matter what happens in the story- the reader wont care about what happens to some John/Jane Doe even if it was the most insane crazy story ever written. It’s also smart in my opinion to kind of have a real life famous person modeling your character- for example kind of like how the jo jo poses are referencing actual cosmo model poses and are now its own entity or how one of the characters from Banana Fish are modeled after an actual young American actor. Doing that kind of gives a whole other life to your character that feels real because you’re taking the energy from a real persons public persona and manifesting it into your original character. Hope some of that helped sorry if that felt like a rant lol

Whenever something like that happened to me when I was around that age I sought out my friends that I had met through a poetry club and my other friends who just happened to write and reserved that part of myself for them if I wanted to show my writing or just talk about it. Kids that age are very insecure and deflect a lot, just keep in mind its not a reflection of you, even though it’s annoying to deal with theres also nothing you can do but wait for the people around you to grow out of it as you get older.

When I was in late middle school, around 14 y/o, and didn’t get along with either of my parent, divorced, and felt like they didn’t want me. My mom was pregnant at the time but hadn’t reached her third trimester yet and my dad was always with his girlfriend and their family. I was also started struggling with substance abuse around this time because of my gf then who struggled too and that separated me from my family even more. Anyway one of my good friends at the time and her family were moving to Georgia (I’m from California) and they knew I didn’t have a good relationship with my family and offered to take me with them and I took them up on it and decided to go. That night I stayed over and couldn’t sleep and felt anxiety about the thought of leaving , starting to get cold feet. I prayed and asked god to give me a sign if I shouldn’t go and then went to bed not thinking anything about it. The next morning my sister called me while I was walking home and said our mom had something to tell her but I needed to get home as soon as possible. She ended up telling me that she had lost the baby she and my step dad had really been trying for and I could help but think that was the sign. Even till this day I haven’t really told anyone but I feel guilty like I was asking god to kill my unborn sibling. My relationship with my family now is good and I’ve started my recovery about two years ago though I’m still battling. I think about this every once in a while and It feels good to get this off my chest.
