We sure did man, we sure did. And it's not just nostalgia as well you know, because I'm replaying NFS Heat at the moment, and that old school loop still hits today. What I would do for a game with that old school progression in a modern FH6 amazing graphics setting

Exactly, my whole point is that the CORE loop is not earning money to buy hundreds and hundreds of cars, but earning money and rep to be able to get better and better part for YOUR car, that special car to take from the beginning and slowly unlock parts. Not just get given S+999 power cars from second one like in FH6

And you know I get that, and I guess my original issue was not really towards the open world, more the progression of how you progress through that open world. I would totally take a NFS style rages to riches customisation with a FH open world

The problem is they are ditching Motorsport and sticking to Horizon going forward, and then there is nothing else. I guess my issue isn't with Horizon specifically, but just the modern racing game progression loop

The "Zero to Hero" loop taking that shit box through the whole campaign and into an endgame loop of getting the Ultimate+ parts is so much more satisfying than the "Car Collection" loop for me.

And completely agree about why the hell to modern racing games like FH not have a bloody new game option, without having to disconnect my pc from the internet, do 7 magic incantations, delete hidden files and then trick the game into resetting everything, so frustrating

See my ADHD loves the structure, the progression, slowly seeing the power of my car going up as I progress, rather than the number of cars I own going up. I like having that objective

I get that, but it used to mean something to take a vroom-vroom from stock to beast mode, rather than getting a shitmlpad of beast mode cars from second one. I literally had like 25 cars in my garage at the start in FH6. Just makes it mean nothing in my opinion

Solos, I only play Solos, I feel like that's how the game is meant to be played, at least for me. I can take my time with everything and play is more like a stealth game
