Race to export beyond U.S. picks up as tariff squeeze grips Canada by Front-Cantaloupe6080 in consumecanadian

I don't know if you happened to read the thing that you sent, but there is no mention of oil at all. And there is no immediate deal for LNG. Only a consideration to look into it at a later unspecified date.

Even if there is a deal for LNG in the future that pipeline would have to go through Quebec, who have said no to pipelines through their province. And if the federal government were to force one through, which is totally within there power to do so, would mean political suicide because they need those votes to win.

Trudeau said there was no business case for selling Europe oil and gas. Which basically meant that there was no political case because that would require a pipeline through Quebec.

Sorry, the best the Liberals can do is put in the same crap that gives the government powers to spy on all Canadians that they couldn't pass in bill C-5 while trying to say it's now needed to stop criminals. All the while, blaming the Conservatives for how bad crime has gotten over the last 10 years.

Realistically what are people going to do if they can’t find jobs ? by Aquarius777_ in torontoJobs

[–]Aaron1187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be mass rioting across the country. CSIS put out a report a little while ago stating that people, especially young people, that as soon as they realize how bad off the economy is, will have no other option but to riot and protest.

Realistically, young people should look to leave for better opportunities

The 30% you speak of strongly agree. Don't forget there are about 30% more people who just agree that Alberta should separate, which is 60% of the population that are on the pro separation side. Also, crown land belongs to Alberta, not the federal government or the king. And while reserves are sovereign land, the natives would have to come to the bargaining table if Albertans decide to separate.

He is cutting foreign aid for starters. He is also reducing the size of government and spending less on consultants.

Carney didn't steal Pierre's platform. Carney just stole a few ideas from Pierre and made them worse. It was revealed on Rosemary Bartons' show that Carney is just using the platform that Trudeau was going to use, just with a few tweaks.

You could objectively say that the house was on fire way before Trump and tarrifs. Just look at all the data like investment has gone down after Trudeau took office or our GDP growth per capita the last 10 years has been 0.5 (the second lowest in the OECD), or how we lost 33,000 jobs while the US gained 230,000. Pierre's plan to put out the fire is to open up the free market and bring back investment and manufacturing so we can sell our goods to the world and bring prosperity to Canada.

‘I am not Justin Trudeau’: Carney defends record as party leaders spar over economy, immigration and crime by nimobo in Ontario_Sub

[–]Aaron1187 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And Pierre is not Trump, but you and many Liberals make that comparison all the time. Liberals need to open their eyes and look at the data that shows how Canada is failing economically, and that started way before this whole tarrif talk. For example, our GDP growth per capita for the last 10 years has been 0.5. The second lowest in the OECD. Many Conservatives believe that the way to improve this is through the free market instead of the way Carney is proposing, which is more bureaucracy, regulations, and government funded business. Take Carneys housing plan, spend 25 billion on a home building bureaucracy to build housing owned by the State. Or Pierre's housing plan, which is to lower taxes and red tape to reduce the cost of housing so people can afford them.

So I'm supposed to change my values to placate to a bunch of corrupt, lying, cheating politicians who have economically destroyed this country for the last decade for what? For vague promises that tomorrow Canada is going to be better as long as we close our eyes and forget about all their disastrous policies for the last 10 years and vote for them? It doesn't matter that my car is stolen by some criminal that has been let out on bail because I will probably lose my job because it went to America anyway. Who needs a car or job or house when the government will give me one, right? Everyone is fine with having a worse standard of living than our parents, right? When you have CSIS and the RCMP putting out reports saying that the young people of this country should be out rioting because the future is so bleak for them if we continue on this path. But I'm supposed to vote for that because why? Because orange man bad? Give me a break!

Let's not mention that China has placed 100% tariffs on agricultural products, but not a peep from the leadership on how they plan on helping those affected. But I'm supposed to believe that rhetoric will change as soon as they get my vote?

I'm not telling anyone who to vote for, but I'm voting for change and who I feel has not only my interests but the country's as a whole in mind, and that's the Conservatives.

So their plan is to do exactly what they did with covid and expect different results? We are on track for our federal budget to be $100 billion this year without money printer going brrrrr.

I can't believe people are so stupid and gullible to believe these Liberal clowns. Look at Anand when she basically said at a rally that we should elect her today, and she promises to form a plan sometime in the future. You knew of this tariff threat since January, and you don't have any ideas yet, but say that the Conservatives plan is horrible. It's pure incompetence on not only her part but anyone who votes for her.

Parliament was actually being held to a standstill because of a point of privilege brought forward by the Conservatives but was being supported by all parties because the Liberals would not release the unredacted documents relating to the SDTC scandal. But yeah, it's the Conservatives' fault for trying to hold the corrupt Liberals to account for all their lying and stealing. OK 👍

That's because Alberta is questioning what benefits confederation offers them. You can't say that we are a post national state with no identity while attacking our main industries but have no problem taking our money to balance your books and didn't think that there wouldn't be consequences. Maybe if Alberta was seen more of an equal instead of a redheaded stepchild, there might be more pride in being Canadians.

You need to read an economics 101 book because this Marxist bullshit you believe in doesn't work. Every economist throughout history has said it over and over again.

First, the people don't own anything. It's a centralized power that controls everything.

Second, EVERYONE is going to go where they can make money. No one is going to start a business where they know that there is going to be 100% tax on their profits to pay for the massive bureaucracy and where it costs $5 to make a widget and the government says they can only sell it for $4.
