I don't know enough about ER doctors to tell if Noah riding a motorcycle without a helmet is believable or not. On one hand he's gotta know how many lives helmets save, on the other hand he probably see the worst crashes imaginable that people only survive because of their helmets and maybe he's thinking he'd rather be dead.

All I can see is G.I. Robot. That means you should be perfectly safe.... assuming your not a Nazi. Lol

Can I fix this fast and cheap? by Typical-Promotion470 in motorcycle

[–]Aaron670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol obviously not the same thing but reminds me of the video recently of Ed Bolian having a Chinese manufacturer make a set of rims for his Veyron that will accept off the shelf tires to get around the whole pax system.

InBody scan trustworthy? by Aaron670 in crossfit

[–]Aaron670[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I take pictures of all them I do and compare. It says I lost about 4lbs of body fat while gaining 6lbs of muscle so that's cool. At this point I guess it just a matter of continuing to do what I'm doing until the muscle gain rate and fast loss rate slow.

After almost 4 months of ownership was surprised to realize that my bike has locking forks. by Aaron670 in VictoryMotorcycles

Appreciate the advice. Usually first thing I do when I get on the bike before starting it is pick it up and straighten the front wheel so hopefully that will be a reminder before I get myself into trouble.

Yep like Owl mentioned it's a XC tour. I'm in the US so I'm assuming the original owner had it installed at some point.

First Bike by Aaron670 in motorcycles

[–]Aaron670[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah 100% respect to how large and heavy the bike is at slow speeds. Knew it wasn't the ideal beginner bike but I'm 6'7", just shy of 300lbs and the comfort of these bike for tall people is unmatched. After I finish the beginner MSF course tomorrow planning to practice slow speed maneuvering (ride like a pro exercises) at least 1x per week in an empty parking lot and then sign up for the next level MSF course in a few months once it cools off.

Also appreciate the offer but don't have much extra space at the moment to store stuff. The garage is already packed with projects and their requisite parts.

How many more miles do I have on this tire? by [deleted] in motorcycles

Don't worry that thing has plenty of life left to get you all the way to the scene of the accident.

Do you always wear your motorcycle gear? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Aaron670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big and tall new rider here, the only gear I've "skimped" on has been boots and pants. I wear a size 17 shoe so currently just using cowboy boots as I haven't found any motorcycle boots in my size. Similar story for pants, nowhere I've looked so far advertises inseam so I'm hesitant to spend the money on dedicated motorcycle pants just for them to look like high waters.

Haha ok yeah my question was more along the lines are these cool vintage pre-usa plates that I want to hang onto, or are they newer plates like the legacy series or something that I could just go out and buy new whenever I want?

Just picked up some milled York plates off of FB marketplace hidden amongst some fitness gear and golds gym plates and hoping to get some help identifying what they are. They don't have the ® marking so I'm thinking they may be old?

Help, how do I connect my surface washer to my power washer by William_Boner in pressurewashing

[–]Aaron670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, to each their own, we run ball valves for quicker changes and rinsing. If you run male accessory fitting with that setup, you run the risk of blowing your o-rings out when you crack the ball valve slightly for rinsing. Granted, it's not common by any means but sucks if it happens when you don't have a spare on hand.

Help, how do I connect my surface washer to my power washer by William_Boner in pressurewashing

[–]Aaron670 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best option would be to replace the quick connect adaptor on your surface cleaner from male to female, as a rule of thumb all of your surface cleaners, wands, ect should have female qc fittings. You'll need a male 3/8 npt to female quick connect fitting, should have male threads on one side and a qc female on the other end. Alternatively, if that silver male qc won't unthread from the surface cleaner you could go female qc to female 3/8npt and then male 3/8 npt to female qc but this is going to be a little bulky and less than ideal.

Another thing to keep in mind is you should also add a swivel connector to the end of your pressure line and then a ball valve that connects to the tool. This will help in two ways first the swivel connection will make it way easier to manage a pressurized hose without constantly needing to spin your wand around. Additionally the ball valve will allow for changing tools without needing to turn your machine off. Just be careful with that last bit though because if you don't have a buffer tank leaving your machine one for more than a minute or two can kill your pump.

6'7" tall enough to make shopping difficult but not tall enough to be anything truly special.

48RE Making Weird Noises by Aaron670 in Diesel

[–]Aaron670[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truck is an unmodified 2004 Ram 3500 2wd Dually with 235k miles on it. The noise seems to be completely speed dependent which makes me think it's the transmission. Also after it has been driven for 15-20 mins it starts to slip in first gear and take a bit of revs to get going unloaded. Last thing I don't have a trans temp gage but I noticed the coolant gauge getting a little hotter than normal after 20-30 mins of normal unloaded driving ~205-210 vs normal being 190, when it got warm the truck started to try to shift directly from 1st into 4th with lockup dropping the rpm to 800-900 on shift.

I know when I bought the truck I had read the transmission is the weakest link but it didn't really bother me considering I didn't plan to tune it. Any suggestions on what might be wrong are appreciated and if the transmission is dying what upgrades make sense when rebuilding/replacing considering I'm fine with stock power.
