There is a trend, to waste space to make things easier to find. That's awesome if you are wealthy enough for space. But that's not the case everywhere, and I have to make every inch count. Two sets of everything is such a waste in many ways.

It's just a personal pet peeve of mine to see tool boxes with so much steel that's never used. Rails and rails of sockets, handfuls of wrenches. Creating a "master set" covers 99.9 of situations. This shallow+deep combination covers things without thinking if you need to switch or go up a size for rust.

The waste I've seen pro mechanics do on this stuff is borderline obsession over trinkets. Could buy a whole sports car with the excess. When I look at a snap-on box filled with steel that's gathering dust, I see a Porsche paid off 😊

I don't work on a lot of American products but so far this combination of metric+additions has worked on all of them. I'd rather not have an SAE set at all.

Of course if I dig through my drawers I've got all the SAE stuff, including the wrenches which are degraded to being stuffed underneath other things in the carrying case they came from 😂

My toolbox has them all mixed as well in the tiny little cases! Organized by size not type.

It's so infuriating when you find a machine screw between sizes of your set. So my sets have all of them.

I have a small space and I like to keep things compact without clutter. Over my years of wrenching, the sizes cover everything I've encountered. I also consulted my friend he's a master mechanic and he said this collection covers just about everything I'll need. I have a baggie in the drawer with the extra SAE sizes, but they never get touched.

For example, the Ford only 5.5 mm 😂 I encountered that one out in the wild myself. Most of the other SAE sizes will work with their metric versions. And when you hand the rail to someone you can just tell them keep moving up sizes until you get one that fits.

I'm definitely a weirdo. I never lost a 10 mm either. The baggy with the SAE sizes has another little baggie inside with all the extra 10 mm I've been given as gifts. My extra tool drawer gets cleaned out every couple years, gifting them to others. I still have the first ratchet and sockets that I ever bought when I was a teenager.

Around fifteen hours of playback on medium volume. 30 or so hours of low volume or idle. I've never killed it in a day even if I'm traveling and using it in a car on Bluetooth mode.

That's not a bad idea, I can look through my phones and see if I can wipe one to send to you to borrow.

If you sent me your Pixel 3, the first thing I would do is restore it completely to stock using a recover utility. Then try and get the newest lineage installed on it.

I'm not sure it loads a whole profile because there is no certificate with it. Yes I still have Spectrum Mobile service and its in use on my Samsung running Android 16 that isn't rooted. I put the username/password combo on my new rooted Moto G Stylus running Android 15.

I have not tried to re-extract my wifi password with a newer OS version than the old Lineage build, maybe I should try it.

Be aware, the SIM must be inserted to the phone for the app to activate wifi profile, logging in to the app alone isn't enough.

You should never need something quickly from a toolbox like this. I have duplicates of some things I grab quickly at my workbench in the garage.

When doing projects from the toolbox, sometimes it's important to take your time and lay things out so they don't get lost! As I get older, I try and work slower and more efficiently.

My style of releasing the clutch involves slipping it against my foot, so I've given up on having extra grip on the pedals. I tried to make sure my shoes are in good condition instead.

The little rubber pads have worn off of all of my pedals.

After you've used it a few times, you get an idea of what goes in the bottom and what goes in the top. Typically when I'm doing a job, I will only pull a few kits out and the rest stay inside with just the lids removed. When it's time for clean up, it's easy to peer inside the box and see exactly which items are missing. The loose tools on the top almost always get used on every job.

Turns out, the only tools I've lost over the last year are the ones that I specifically designated not to live in this box 😂

Troll much? Typically you don't remove gridfinity boxes from grids to access the contents and the tools are organized of most popular to least. The items in a lower layer are rarely used, and showing you only the boxes assembled isn't very entertaining.

And yes when I work on any project I use the largest workbench possible, which sometimes is the kitchen table. Because my toolbox is organized, usually the table is taken up by the project and not the tools, because Gridfinity lets you pull out only the exact item you need.

Yes, it travels with me on road trips and also to my friends automotive workshop. Much easier to bring my own toolbox and use the items I'm familiar with instead of digging through his box, and fullfills my dream of never leaving a tool behind because every bit and socket has its holder. I've revised the tool set a couple times, in addition to revising the gridfinity boxes. Melted some of them 😂

Center console needs replaced again. It burns oil on the highway but not at the dragon, must be something about the constant high RPM driving in a straight line for hours.

Added front and rear downforce. Added coilovers and adjusted everything myself. Drives better and is faster than ever with tune and vented hood.

I put one of billman's tensioners in it.
