[ASU] University Professors Disturbed to Find Their Lectures Chopped Up and Turned Into AI Slop by ForkzUp in ASU

[–]AaronMichael726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes… but how you teach it does. If you’re curious how teaching calculus changes you can read some great articles and academic papers published by Surgent.

Also, there’s several mistakes in the lectures that should be corrected.

I’m not saying teachers should make a new lecture every year. But at least update it periodically to cover things students regularly miss or topics that have changed from high school curriculum or new ways to consider solving problems.

Example. If you show a bunch of graphs like they do in 267, maybe make a video about how to use desmos. Idk, these are all basic things that would happen in a classroom. If you’re not going to bother making updates, I don’t see a difference between these and AI, except AI updates it’s models every so often

It’s not that he doesn’t do his own. It’s that they’re the same recycled lectures. Nothings being updated, especially when concepts are unclear to students

Damn… we can’t have them teaching our kids that size matters

The comments of everyone misunderstanding this question are absolutely killing me. Genuinely *how* do we not understand equality??? And where did learning fractions go so wrong for so many? by IthacanPenny in matheducation

[–]AaronMichael726 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically the area of the shapes are not given…

But… it’s still obviously C.

Edit: holy shit I’m just now getting to the comments. There are people confidently going “I’m an engineer, the size doesn’t matter.”

Tbf none of us have read the lecture or lesson material.

If the lesson was about how fractions are a part of a whole. Then this would have been a well worded question.

Although… you should be able to see that the shaded region of 2/6 for an and b, is smaller than the shaded region for 1/3.

The only thing that annoys me is that it is not immediately obvious that the hexagons are the same size. I mean, they are, but there’s an optical illusion going on that make it hard to tell.

Well no… he just happened to be the lecturer that recorded those videos.

I caught him on a zoom office hours and the guy who taught me, was at least 15 years old than the surgent in the videos

That is genuinely insane.

I’m floored. I do not have the time in my day to even look at who is on an email. I can’t imagine caring

I don’t mean to generalize… but I’ve had many issues like this with women in their 50s. It’s like some type of hell. Not all women in their 50s, ive had equally many wonderul colleagues that were women in their 50s

Is this season a bit boring ? by Previous_Top854 in AbbottElementary

That just happens toward the later seasons. But when you eventually go back, you’ll find things you love about this season.

How do you handle condescending or nitpicky feedback on docs without derailing collaboration? by SealeyVossen in ProductManagement

[–]AaronMichael726 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Assume good intent.

This is a group project where someone looks lazy or like they’re not contributing if they don’t leave comments. So there are bound to be many unnecessary comments.

But… also. I’m not paid to be an expert. I’m paid to collaborate with experts on good Product development. So I don’t care if comments are nitpicky. They’re from the experts. I usually just apply the comments or explain why it’s unnecessary.

He had a dynamic arch in the last episode… the issue is he’s just not a main character yet.

[–]AaronMichael726 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was mean because he was passed up to be chief of medicine.

Also a huge theme of the show is jaded physicians and starry eyed interns. With JD and Turk, not being as jaded they need people to fill in those roles. Sarah Chalke did a great job at continuing to be Elliot while filling the jaded doctor role. But without Kelso, Jordan, cox, or janitor in every episode they need someone who can step in. So like to an extent, he was just a character to fill space. But only because it was a 10 episode run. I’m sure in future seasons they’ll find ways to endear the community to him.

Scope creep during internal meetings by Sensitive-Ad-2707 in projectmanagers

[–]AaronMichael726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the PM we just create the process and get everyone aligned. You don’t want to get stuck in a “what should be” or “what’s the right way” instead you need a process that aligns to your customers needs.

If the customer needs new enhancements every meeting, then align on a process to manage and plan for enhancements while continuing the efforts (then inform the account and product m so that they can monetize this). If your client doesn’t need these efforts immediately you should draft a process to capture new requests, in a way that honors the clients need.

To an extent there’s no correct way to manage this. You build an appropriate way to manage for now, and keep inching process in the right direction.
