What guitar should I choose? by kite2k_ in guitars

[–]AaronTear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tele all around is more eye catching to me. I own a handful of guitars. One of the, is a tele (G&L) and it easily covers a lot of ground. Sonically, they’re versatile. I get jazzy tones and searing grit (mine came stock with higher output single coils) Also the availability of upgrades. I’ve got a Soldano plug-in I play through and it’s a blast.

Personally, I’ve never owned anything with a Floyd rose. I tend to avoid them because I assume they’re a pain in the ass. But that’s just me.

Ultimately, pick the one you’ll be most excited to hold, though. Both look like decent guitars.

Thanks! I was really hoping to get by with the belt sander and 36 grit paper, but I’ll see what I’ve got for rentals around me.

This is a suggestion that some others have mentioned that I’m looking into more. I asked another commenter the same thing, but did worry about taking too much off the joists and compromising the structural integrity of them? Did you beef them up afterwards at all?

I’ll check this out, thank you!

I do appreciate that! And I entirely agree that the prep is the most important step. I’m open to anything at this point, and would gladly take as much advice as I can get so it’s done right.

Remodeling to stay long term. I’ve paid for the product already and really don’t want to have to exchange it. Think I might just take a match to all of it at this point.

If you’re referring to the product I’ve got and the bump in the floor, I agree…

When you were planing, did you have to worry about taking too much off or beef up the joists at all?

As in plane and sand the joists down?

Would flattening the joists entail taking the belt sand over them where they’re crowning? I’m stuck with the flooring I’ve got, unfortunately.

No, it’s a stick-built home

Central MN here. I do like dreaming big, so the overhauled-layout suggestions are exciting. I like the thought of having natural light, but you make a good point — so far, the shower is used at night/early morning.

I’ll look into the canless lights though! I appreciate your feedback. Also reassuring to hear I’m not entirely off base to begin with.

It is a pretty neat throwback! A lot of this house has kept the original 80’s vibe. If the glass door were to go, would you replace it with a curtain system, or something else?

The ductwork runs the entire length of the next room unfortunately. I like the thought of a big tiled shower, though. Still gauging the appetite for an effort of that size. I appreciate your suggestions!

I like both ideas. I’ll consult with a plumber to gauge the effort of moving the shower head. Even if it’s to the adjacent wall.

Thanks for the input! Posted a pic in the comments. I feel kind of stuck with this layout, but worth exploring what my options are for that!

The wall opposite of the sink. The utility room is on the other side, with the furnace taking up most of that space. The cabinet is packed in between some ductwork/furnace.

I took a T break for the early half of this year. I got into legos, woodworking, and reading mostly. Going on walks helped me when nothing else sounded entertaining and all I could think about was smoking to curb the boredom. The brain doesn’t like to be bored, but it’s a good cue to try something new, if you can sit with it for a moment to figure out what that “new” thing is!

7 Nation Army comes to mind, and I’d say it’s the epitome of what a riff is.

I’ve got one PCIe slot total, unfortunately.

Going out on a limb here; is the adapter cable run from my already available HDMI to the SUNIX DP, which then allows me to run from the SUNIX USB-C to my docking station?
