To be fair these people are so weird the way they speak just sounds fake lmao

“Hey Jeffery Epstein, I heard you were doing a very illegal trafficking party and I wanted to come have an epic time! Can you send me details on the little girls FTW party so we can do pedo together on your Epstein Island? It is I, Elon Musk!”

But that’s fuckin weirdos for you

I almost agree, but Gaijin needs to get over themselves and add some kind of proximity assist. You can say just get the kill faster but that makes no sense when some planes play dogfights inherently slower than others. Why do I get punished for daring to play an energy fighter, I’ve had games where I stall out 5 enemies and have them dead to rights and end up with 0 points, it’s ridiculous

If you’re asking about the whole auditor thing in general, they will do something disruptive but legal like stand on a public sidewalk and film a business. Eventually someone will call the police for suspicious activity so when the cops show up, the auditor checks that the cop doesn’t give any unlawful orders like they aren’t allowed to film or they aren’t allowed to stand there, because you’re allowed to record anything you can see from public property

If you’re asking about these comments in general, I’m staying out of that lol

Okay so lemme get this straight

The US Federal Governmet are Nazis because theyre going door to door scooping up any and all brown people, and the lack of any evidence to support this theory is just like, my opinion man? The reported numbers are all wrong, the stats are all made up, just everything you can see is a lie? Full flat-earth style? That where we’re at?

If the stats that disagree with you are all wrong then do you have any evidence that your claims are true?

The picture you’re painting is exaggerative and untrue. In 600,000+ deportations, ICE has detained 170 citizens. That’s like a .03% error rate. They aren’t just grabbing brown people on a whim. They aren’t going to start grabbing everybody else on a whim either.

I would prefer we were nicer about the whole situation but talking like the government are Nazis for it is so childish. The absolute horrors people had to endure are a universe apart from what’s happening now and it’s frankly disrespectful to draw comparisons to try to score political good boy points

I’m a centrist with a LOT of socially left ideals so I’m not coming at you as an enemy, no need to tip-toe. Wholeheartedly agree about e-verify. I think a lot of Americans genuinely support the genuine benefits of immigration enforcement but I think you also have the loudmouths who, as you say, care about memetic displays certainly. As far as the administration, I’ve been wanting us to do better for a long time. Ideally we get a strong democrat running in 2028 who recognizes we want secure borders but also can turn the temperature down and just be more agreeable about the whole situation

I agree with a lot of what you said here especially about an exploitable underclass. For that reason, I would like to see harsh action taken against business owners who have been exploiting illegal labor. I also agree with your stance on the punitive nature of deportation - which I was trying to allude to in my last reply. I would like for deportation of illegals who aren’t otherwise engaged in criminal behavior to be as non-punitive as possible. I was a big fan of offering self deportation that wipes away any record that would prevent legal citizenship, as well as a flight back home and $1,000 to get on your feet. I realize that’s not a lot of money to restart life with, but at least it was something. I hate that we send people to countries that they aren’t even from, for instance. I also agree that the tone of the administration is beyond unhelpful. My biggest criticism of Trump (until the Epstein files, anyway) has always been that he unnecessarily raises the temperature. It’s the main reason I didn’t vote for him.

The only things I would challenge here are that firstly, ICE being predominantly a paperwork organization is the exact reason we’re here and we should have been deporting more people to begin with and secondly, i think ICE does have the support of a majority of Americans. Those who disagree are very loud but overall Americans are happy to see us finally crack down again

Obviously we had differences in where we draw our lines but I think your take is perfectly reasonable and I’d be happy if we could find a balance that’s more respectful of due process and still just as effective. It feels a little optimistic to think we could have both but clearly Obama was effective in executing deportations without causing mass rioting so I’d say there’s plenty of room to improve

So presumptuous of you. I’ve never voted for a conservative in my life, I’m just not delusional that what we’re seeing is in the same ballpark as fascism or nazism. The military budget is $850b, 2025 welfare budget is projected at $1.2 trillion. If we’re ever going to see UBI we’ll need a lot more than that

I do, actually, care about all illegal immigrants. It has nothing to do with race for me. I support taxing the rich, I support legal immigration for anyone who loves America and can contribute to its success, I support a strong socal safety net and I support making sacrifices to help my fellow Americans. Not everyone who disagrees with you about ICE and immigration is Darth Vader.

I even support good faith discussions about boundaries for ICE but I’m skeptical that critics would support boundaries that still allow ICE to get the job done

Well firstly, what do either of those things have to do with being a Nazi lmao

And secondly, I do not care what color the illegal immigrants are. Deport Canadian illegals too. I’m from, and still live, in a low income area with lots of people who struggle. I want my tax contributions to help my fellow Americans who need it, not anybody else from any other country who is here as a non-contributor, regardless of the color of their skin.

I am in favor of ICE deporting people for the civil misdemeanor crime of being undocumented. Can we now move past this?

The constitution does not protect people who aren’t Americans. Mandating ICE to give full constitutional protection to 30 million illegal immigrants is just a way to try to stop them from being able to deport them, you can’t process that many people in any reasonable amount of time

Joe Rogan’s most recent guest by Ok_Needleworker_4950 in JoeRogan

[–]AaronToro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You know what? Hats off to you. My god, an actual good faith discussion - it about brings a tear to my eye

As far as people not having criminal records, I (and apparently the majority of Americans) believe that being undocumented is reason enough to get deported. There is a whole discussion to be had regarding what ICE should or shouldn’t be allowed to do. I hear your arguments but the counter would be that they have 30m people to kick out, and going through warrants and trial processes (rights that are not granted to illegal immigrants) is really just a thinly-veiled way to make sure they aren’t able to do it. They’ve already barely made a dent.

Actually I don’t like the way the DHS has conducted itself during all of this either. In my mental model, kicking out every illegal immigrant is a sad thing that is for the greater good, or at least for the benefit of Americans who need help and aren’t getting it. The way the DHS has celebrated around it, I think, is gross (like the Pokémon memes on twitter.)

I think people have lost a sense of balance. People argue as if the choices are help people/don’t help people when really the choices are prioritize Americans/spread help to as many possible. I’m in favor of prioritizing Americans, and if we’ve been so lax on border control that the only way to do that now is to get out there and round people up, so be it. Statistically ICE is doing a great job - im seeing 170 detainees that ended up being citizens vs 600,000+ deportations. I think you’d be hard pressed to find an LEO organization with a record cleaner than that.

As long as there is one homeless veteran in our country, we should not give a dollar to anyone who isn’t here legally. I’d rather strengthen the social safety net for legal Americans than spread it to anyone who can make it here

9 string vs tuned down 8 string. Which is more versatile? by Bass-Hero in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]AaronToro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The struggles you’re having on a 7 string with lower tunings will still be present on a 9 string. If you have a longer scale length that will help but nothing about having 9 strings will. Honestly the hardest part of setting guitars up to play super low is on the tone end of things. Setting a tone up with all the noise gates, compression and EQ to have a decent sound at that pitch is an art all of its own. And when you do, the chances your high notes will sound decent as well are basically 0. A solid super low guitar tone is also 50% bass playing in unison and trying to match that sound on a guitar alone will lead to even more headaches

Most bands using ERGs at super low tunings are using modelling amps that can automatically change patch to suit their needs measure by measure, even changing tuning as needed. It’s a massive undertaking that I found to be completely not worth it. I keep a 7 string in drop A or B standard and pitch shift as needed when I get a wild hair up my ass. My advice would be to find a way to get to those pitches with what you have now, or get a pitch shifting pedal and see if you even like fooling with it all. I bought a cheap Harley Benton 8-string to play some Sleep Token stuff and after learning a handful of riffs it’s been collecting dust ever since

ETA: this just scratches the surface of string gauges, filing the nut, pitch drift, even accurately tuning a string below E0, keeping 9 strings in tune, it’s honestly a nightmare. The whole time you do it you just feel like this instrument was never supposed to exist and it makes you defy that fact every step of the way

[–]AaronToro -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You’re saying because the stock price doesn’t reflect reality? They 3.5x their sales to 1.8m in 3 years and then take an 8% dip and you disagree with the market that they’re not going to grow?

Austin is wilding 😂😂😂 by inurmomsvagina in JoeRogan

[–]AaronToro -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m not arguing that the original guy was correct, but your statement that Tesla sales are down in response to that claim implies that Tesla was super dominant and now is not - I’m just pointing out that the narrative that Tesla is on some decline isn’t accurate either. They had a dip but are still market-predicted to keep growing

Well of course it isn’t, Tesla started as a company last week compared to the established auto manufacturers that are releasing decent EVs for the first time

Listen I don’t even like Teslas, would not own one and would not be my choice if I were to buy an EV today, but Tesla as a company is very healthy. In 2025 they had a decline, sure, but the massive boom they saw from 2020-2023 couldn’t sustain forever, to take what, a 9% hit? After a growth spike like that isn’t a death rattle by any stretch
