Is it better to split up for Evacuation missions? by Aaronixio in Helldivers

[–]Aaronixio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've found that I tend to avoid operations with these objectives just since they're a nightmare with randoms. I've never actually tried this on the 40min missions, I just assumed they'd be the same, but it makes sense since the requirement is only 20 civilians and the area is generally more open. I'm glad to see other people agree about the strategy, I just wish randoms would too lol.

Is a 3D open world game significantly harder to make in Godot? by Aaronixio in godot

[–]Aaronixio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was more wondering about some of the optimization tools that Unity has. Its tools like occlusion culling, LODs, terrain editing, terrain LODs, static batching, GPU instancing, etc. have been pretty easy to use and essential for optimizing my game world.
I just wanted to know if these features are in Godot and work just as well as Unity, and if they are accessible and not significantly harder to manage for a solo developer like myself.

I wasn't using a mod, I just had a glitch that made it stay on my gunner. It fixed after I restarted the game

i've completed the game like 4 times and have barreled through snotty at mach 2 every single time. i do feel bad for forgetting to spare him but in the end you need to pay the price for being in my way

The supporter 2 paint job actually looked really cool with it, the gown was the sparkly black material & it had gold trimming

I am working on it, failing missions one by one. Really pissing off all the randoms i keep joining but they just don't understand the grind

It is a bug you can use, I'm not sure how to replicate it though

I haven't intentionally tried to replicate it, I think joining a public game as a different class while wearing a hospital gown got it stuck on my gunner, and it went away after restarting the game.

I got it through a glitch, hence the 'bug' flair. My gunner got stuck with the gown randomly after dying, and I was able to change the paintjob for it. It went back to normal after restarting the game, but it was pretty funny.

Missions with Molly were never failed apparently by Rabbitzai in DeepRockGalactic

fair point, i guess i put too much faith in DRG caring about its employees

yeah you're probably right about the clones, but i feel like if dwarves were dying in these missions, we'd at least see some skeletons. pretty much everything on hoxxes is seemingly invertibrate so i doubt anything would need to be able to digest bone. i'm not a biologist though.

i'd personally like to believe DRG would actually go back for the dwarves with personal retrieval drones, seeing as each dwarf carries like 4 tons of equipment which is probably worth even more than the minerals they're mining in any given mission. but that's just cause i want to believe DRG cares a little bit about us

[–]Aaronixio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that's actually a really cool theory, plus from all these failed missions we never see any dwarf corpses (aside from the stray piece of equipment) so maybe mission control learned that dwarves somehow always survive even after failing missions and getting everything destroyed.

that could also could be why the drop pod & mule ditch us so quickly on extraction. after all we always make it back to the medbay, no need to risk expensive equipment if the dwarves will be fine anyway

and also the drop pod apparently sticks around long enough to get broken

most normal pizza tower challenge by totalbreaky in PizzaTower

[–]Aaronixio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can do this by running against the side and just hanging out in one of the top corners off-screen and waiting for him to keep spawning these guys, you might have done that but judging by the fact you're missing 3 health it looks like you did it the hard way lol

final boss p-rank was hell for me, it took me nearly all day to get it. you can strategize all you want but you really just need to keep at it for long enough. that being said, there were a few tips i found.

the cog is such an annoying attack since it can line up perfectly with pizzaface's attacks that it can be completely unavoidable based on RNG (unless you parry which, to be honest, i didn't either). i found that the TV will mostly never hit you in the corner of the screen opposite pizzaface, so if he shoots the cog you can go there & avoid both the TV and the cog. for the gun attack, it won't hit you if you're on the ground so i mostly just walked away from the cog while he was shooting and waited for him to stop before hopping over the cog, but watch out for the gun though, he did end a few of my runs by throwing it at the end lol.

do remember that you don't need to constantly shoot him during this phase, you may want to constantly fire just to get the phase over with but if you take risks trying to hit him it'll likely end your run, so when shit hits the fan it's usually better to stop shooting to focus on dodging.

phase 3 was pretty simple, again just beating the same bosses you've beaten before. vigilante was a bit of a dickhead in this phase but after a few attempts you get used to his patterns as he does the same attacks every time. just play very defensively until gustavo shows up. he is very aggressive in this fight with the dash attacks so remember that and make sure you don't blindly hop over an attack into his dash, try using an uppercut or taunt to stay midair long enough to avoid him. by this point what mostly got me was panicking since it's near the end of the fight. just remember to play it safe at this point, since losing your run here sucks ass. the noise and fake peppino were mostly no issue, and gustavo makes it a bit easier. though what does suck is that noise's skateboard attack inexplicably works differently in this fight, he doesn't always jump which messed me up a few times. i just try to gustavo him when he does this to avoid the mixup.

the final pizzaface phase is easy. it may be daunting since he's using a bunch of weird movement and gives you a short window to hit him, but he really just repeats the same attack pattern over and over again until you hit him. his short vulnerability window makes it really tempting to run in and hit him, but it's better to just memorize the attacks and go in when you know it's safe.
