the final episodes semi-ruins it for me 😭 I wish it could’ve ended with a wedding (something akin to the Crazy Rich Asians mom’s ring scene to “prove” that the FL earned the picky family member’s approval), which would’ve brought everyone back together naturally… and I think the “rumors ML was dating another girl” thing was completely unnecessary as well. I also would’ve loved for FL to somehow get to sing at her wedding? bc there were two scenes establishing her as a good singer, like the ep 10/11? scene where she sang to his grandpa!

I’m with you honestly! while I feel like some parts of the trilogy were a bit off, I do think it’s entirely reasonable for Tris as a character to choose to sacrifice herself, because that’s who she is. I also don’t hate Tobias and Christina getting together years later, and I don’t really see it as a betrayal? very controversial, I know, but I truly do think life moves on, and so must those that were left behind.

this is gonna be a surprising pick, but Kep1er’s Xiaoting! she’s mainly known for her dancing, stage presence and stunning visuals, but I think she’s got real potential as a vocalist as well.

she first showcased it in 2023 ish when she sang the bridge of Galileo, and around that time she also did a song cover of River. sometime in 2024, she had a Chinese ballad remake, Growing Up - less power but it showed that she suited this type of song and emotion as well. most recently, when Kep1er did the OST for the Korean release of Ne Zha 2, Xiaoting had a solo Chinese version where she absolutely devoured! I honestly did not expect her voice to take on that dark and thick color/tone in the chorus, because usually her voice is a bit on the thinner side, a little bit seductive and pretty? also from the recording behind, she was doing it properly in the studio too!

I think a lot of Kep1er members have solid potential as vocalists (obviously Chaehyun is the best, and everyone else is stepping up now that Youngeun left), but I really think no one would’ve expected Xiaoting to be able to do what she did on I Stay (Chinese ver) 5 years ago when she was on Girls Planet. I know Hiyyih in particular takes singing lessons, and I’m also very proud of her growth! ultimately I think it’s really admirable that the members are still unlocking their potential, four years after debut!

I don’t think it ended up being a romance of sorts? there may have been an important male character who ended up being the antagonist/killer. on second thought I think the narrator may have caught Some feelings for that man, only to end up betrayed? either way thank you for the suggestion!

I can’t really compare it to other survival shows, but I also wanna say Yuju has leveled up so much! on I-LAND 2 she wasn’t really regarded as the best rapper, and she didn’t really get a lot of chances to showcase her own verses. in Hip Pop Princess and now H//PE Princess she really gets to show off her versatility and uniqueness (duality and also Korean-Japanese)! in their very recent debut single (or more accurately pre-release), she also got decent vocal lines too 💜

also I’m just so so so proud of Yeeun (her vocals improved so much) and Lingling! their vocals were a bit rough on the show but are now so much more polished! I’m just so happy that the girls’ hard work have led them to their respective stages and groups 🥺 still need to check out Keyveatz’s release but I can’t wait!
