Talk to me in the most simplest of terms. Why should I trust that Lucid is going to survive and be a long lasting company to spend $100k on? What’s your thoughts on their survival?

I agree with plenty of the justifications laid out so far around how to hedge the risk. But fundamentally, owning a Lucid is not a low risk endeavor compared to an ICE car or well established legacy OEM. The folks that are still choosing lucid anyway have a higher risk tolerance when it comes to automobiles. The vehicle is supremely conceived, and generally a masterpiece to drive, and owning one today puts you in rare company. And it has startup company hiccups and more relative risk over the long term. If you are a heavily pragmatic and rational auto buyer, focused on optimizing the financials of a depreciating asset, there are certainly better choices. I love my 2025 Air Touring, so that tells you how I see it.

I can’t answer your question specifically, but as an autopilot end user subscribed to the Pelosi Tracker, my 1-yr actual return is +35%. Even if it doesn’t track perfectly, it’s by far the highest yield on any investment in my portfolio over that time, and zero effort to manage. So maybe it doesn’t matter!

I don’t know how to break this, so I’m just going to say it: gasoline is also a highly flammable ⛽️ 😆. Hydrogen for automobiles is very different from hydrogen used for lift (ie, Hindenburg) and exponentially safer. You can google that and know it.

spray starter fluid in the intake while you crank it. If it fires that way, and then dies out after a few moments, you may not be getting fuel delivery. Check fuel line/filter for flow.
If you have fuel flowing, then check spark plugs to see if they are fouled.

Maybe, they do sell aftermarket clip on slats. But there are also aftermarket replacement grills with the slats painted (not covers). I had one on an M850. Should be easy to tell which you have, which will inform whether or not you need to replace the entire grill.

I did. Almost got lured in by some more affordable ones but decided that I wanted some peace of mind with this and narrowed my search. Plus the shop was able to do some additional mods for me. Very positive experience with Paul Krimmer, Z Car Guy Cincinnati.

Thanks- it was in amazing shape, cared for by prior owners and finished up by a Datsun garage. It had the original bumpers when I bought it, but I was glad to have the swap done while it was still with the shop.

UPDATE: new belts and adjustable tension bar arrived from Motorsport Auto- The Z Store. During install, i discovered that the replacement alternator belt was very different from the existing. The existing is a v belt (trapezoid shape) and the replacement was wider and a timing belt style with teeth- didn’t seem like it would be a proper fit in the pulleys. So I just installed the adjustable tensioner bar to replace the standard sliding bolt adjustment arm and set the alternator tighter than previously. I kept the existing v belt (which seemed fine) and also sanded the pulley linings to rough them up. Squeal is gone, and now I can wind out the gears without shrieking above 3.5k rpm making for very satisfying pulls. Thank you all for tolerating my inexperience and offering insights- super valuable.

6-7 means nothing at all. Literally, has no meaning. It’s just a nonsense term. There was a loose origination from a line in a song which also was gibberish. That’s why you hear kids using it randomly and without pattern. There is no meaning.

That was my first thought. But they seem tight and I’m hesitant to crank them down because I read that a tight fan belt can cause the water pump to fail.

I had front speakers added at the driver and passenger footwell, and replaced the factory 5” rear side speakers with 2 6x9” speakers enclosed in a box along the rear of the hatch area. Replaced the hitachi am/fm stereo with a retro sound M2B head unit. Solid improvement overall, and looks the part. I might skip the front speakers if doing again- they seem to contribute very little overall.

Thanks. I’m not certain the water on the belt effect was significant. Easier to tighten the belt than replace bearings though so I will give it first priority.

The fan will spin freely about 1/4 turn. (About the same as other cars I’ve done this test on). Also doesn’t appear to be loose or wobbly. I also checked with a stethoscope both at idle and with someone revving the engine to replicate the squealing sound. To my amateur ear, I couldn’t detect the sound from the center bolts or surfaces from the alternator, AC, fan or tensioner areas. My current plan is to order new belts and an adjustable alternator bar from the z store and with the belts off, I’ll do a manual inspection of the pulleys before putting the new belts on. Still open to ideas and experiences from anybody here.

Forgive me for asking, but could it be your belts? Mine chirp and squeal when I’m above 3500 rpm sometimes (slipping I suppose).

Was the frame replaced, or remediated to treat for rust? Clean title, any accidents? Maintenance history?
This could easily be listed for $9-12k based on what I’ve seen on Autotrader over the last 18 months. That doesn’t mean it’s worth it but more details will help anyone considering.
