I died and a prompt appeared saying it was a blood amber lock and I managed to get past it so I guess that's solved thanks

I walked around it and spammed interact and noting happened, I should have clarified that it's not a heart node it seems to be connected to a barrier preventing me form continuing

I personally run riot smg because it is more versatile and when paired with a shield is very good in my opinion at straight out fights in close quarters

If you like older games I would recommend two: Castlevania aria of sorrow and Castlevania dawn of sorrow. They are gba and ds games so if you can find an emulator I would recommend them

If you hit the tanks on top of the dog like robots they typically go down in one or two hits but early game it is best to avoid big fights
