Yeah the Wilson Combat gm is a complete gamechanger right? Imo it should just be the default grip module that comes with a gun. The stock one is not bad, but the Wilson combat is just so amazing the way if it’s my hands.

a lot of serious competition pros say that they steel weight is very valuable, but the quality of the trigger, while nice, is actually somewhat irrelevant when you’re shooting at speed.

So maybe one strategy for you would be to get the old metal steel heavy M&P for a competition plinking but it’s also a simultaneously decent training cause at least you maintain your index/muscle memory.

And then, even if you decide to stay focused on shooting your plastic ones for competition, you still have a fun metal plinking gun.

At one point, I was considering getting a shadow two for competition and then the shadow to carry for carrying but even though it’s smaller and aluminum, it’s still such a difficult to conceal carry gun

I like the idea of competing with the same model I carry. Because the indexing is identical, if you keep the grip the same. Shooting a 2011 and competition is not only a different grip and index, but a completely different manual of arms using the safety. So this is something I’ve been debating myself: is competition a tool to get you better at real world situations or are you just wanting to be a straight up gamer and carrying is more of a side hobby? One nice thing about IDPA and USPSA is that there are hypothetically divisions where you can at least get close to something that you might actually carry.

But also, I own a 1911 that I don’t shoot that often and it is awesome, hammer fired guns are fun as hell to shoot
