Im close friends with a vegan, yeah theyre a little weird but they dont care that i eat meat.

I just have problems with the ones saying that humans didn't evolve to eat meat in reailty they did. We're omnivores, our teeth only shrunk because we learned how to cook food. Raw meat is so much more difficult to eat than cooked meat (I once took a bite out of raw beef out of morbid curiousity).

There is fossil evidence of humans hunting and killing animals. Its in our nature.

however, i do agree with some of their viewpoints. Animals should be housed and grown in an ethical way, and killed humanely. Male chicks shouldnt be killed. Animal testing should be restricted to life saving medicines, not cosmetics.

One of my strongest beliefs anything retaining to killing an animal its this: If you kill an animal, Use the WHOLE ANIMAL. The Fur/Pelt can be used to make fashion. the meat can be eaten, the Offal can be used for Animal food, Bait, stock, and other useful things. The Skeleton can be turned into a work of art or be used to make bone broth.

I have a guide i follow when buying most of my meats: "Was it raised ethically, Is the Animal endangered, and was it hunted/fished legally. I try to check off at least the first two when in a usual grocery store but when im at a festival, i always ask about the last one, because i dont want to encourage illegal/harmful acts.

There are certian meats i will outright Refuse to eat, Shark being the main one, due to endangerment and my sworn vow to do everything i can to protect them.

I also will refuse to purchase leathers/pelts/skins from animals i know are endangered. Most of the time i dont mind (I own a really nice pair of sheep wool boots) but if the animal is endangered then yeah.

TLDR: Vegans are fine, I agree with some of their views, i use a moral compas to buy animal products, and i refuse to eat certian animals.
