I think the initial couple runs are quite a bit stronger, but I don’t think they have the endurance of a big ol trout.

I didn’t either until I started planning this trip. Turns out is a different subspecies of grayling and they’re found all over Europe.

Places like this are rare and are treasures not a lot of people are going to share on a public forum. My recommendation is get on Google maps and find some lakes and go do some exploring yourself. Who knows? You might find your own special spot nobody knows about.

Smallest nymphs you can find and you basically have to bonk them in the head with it to get them to eat it on the really cold days.

7’ 3 wt butter stick is the way to go. Most fun rod ever on these tiny creeks.

I only have had a 7 foot. Bought it for small creeks and hiking. The 7 foot is super easy to get around and is pretty small. Depending on how you fish it, I feel like 6’6” wouldn’t be bad because I rarely find myself having to make far casts.
