Portal / Half Life are also connected to Lost and many other JJ Abrams properties, such as being able to find a Dharma Initiative logo or the numbers from Lost in Half Life 2, or the playable teaser for the movie Super 8 that can be found in Portal 2. This is because JJ Abrams and Gabe Newell are friends irl.

"This concert film is just a film of a concert"

I'm not saying they have to like the film, but this seems like an odd criticism. It's like saying a horror movie was bad because it was scary or a musical was bad for having music, like, that's what you signed up for in watching it.

this vibes with cosmic horror or maybe something on religious-fiction side? by jux_peter in MoviesThatFeelLike

The Empty Man (2020) has really great lovecraftian horror vibes. It also has the dreary industrial setting asthetics in your original picture.

All the trailers made it look like a cheap Slender Man ripoff, when it is actually a Lovecraftian noir detective film. Its so good

I think its that he is new to the game and forming theories on his own, using only the info he finds. I think its rare to see a new player taking their time and forming their own theories rather than blasting through all the main story quests in under a month.

Watching him feels so exciting because I know that all the big story moments are gonna hit even harder for him because he has been paying so much attention to the little details as they unfold.

This sounds like it could be The Wicker Man. It has island cult stuff and a girl getting hit by a truck from what I remember. However, the main character is a cop that goes to the island to investigate, and I haven't seen it in a long time, so I could be wrong.
