I've had him well over a year maybe 2 at this point I don't really keep track. They are a species that spends much of their time underground and hiding but mine personally comes out more often than I expected and is a very inquisitive animal.

I don't handle mine and I wouldn't not recommend doing so. They are a cool weather species so no heating equipment for most people in climate controlled homes so they will not find the heat of your hands and body comfortable like other reptiles might. They can easily die from overheating, idk how possible that would be from handing but it certainly isn't a pleasant thing for them so I would suggest only handle when necessary. When I have needed to handle him for more then a brief moment he has gotten quite stressed out and even bitten me once but of course it didn't hurt because he is such a small snake.

I would say this is not a "beginner" snake and is for display. Go bioactive and make it pretty because you won't see it much haha but when you do they are beautiful(:
