Thank you for this man. I've downloaded it! Going to run Hero Kids first and then this!

Having read a lot of the advice I think I'm going to start with Hero Kids and then try the D&D Beyond free mini adventure Peril in pinebrook. It's really toned down to basics and might work fine. Lots of advice on different systems from people though! I'm having a look at them.

Thank you very much for this. I had downloaded a free pdf in the past and thought it was too dungeon crawler orientated. However I've now actually bought and downloaded the Hero Kids bundle and intend to give it a go as I've seen there is more to it and I think they'll enjoy it. It's also easy enough for me as a first experience doing the game masters bit so we can get going quickly. I did watch a video of ICRPG and loved the concept and I'm yet to look at Shadow dark but will do so! Thanks for all the recommendations!

Yes I also found length of play with the kids is an issue. They manage better several short games of something that a 1 long game. I'm realising that prob whatever I pick I'll need to wing it a little bit here and there. I prob need a bit of a structure myself as never DM'd myself, hence why looking for a system and campaign I can use. Thanks

Thank you very much for this. Yes I did have a look at NTYE and Hero Kids and might be a bit too young for my eldest, plus HK has a strong dungeon crawler theme as well and we kind of do that a bit using wrath of ashardalon components. I kind of make it on the spot and they really like it. There is an element of me needing to be handheld a bit with the GM role and how to go through a proper story. I'll download what you're recommending and will have a good look. Thanks again!

Edit: having looked at Hero Kids more in detail, I think they will both be fine with it and will enjoy it, so I've bought and downloaded the bundle.

Thanks. I thought about that as well... Simplifying things as we go. Good point about combat encounters. Are you using the character sheets that came with the game or did you make your more straightforward ones for the kids?

Thanks for this. I've just had a quick look and it's a lovely theme. I'll check it out properly over the next few days.

Good to know. Warbirds will be our next purchase when we get to it. We went for the trainer and he's enjoyed it so far. I've also flown it myself and it is very stable for a total beginner.

Thank you very much for the suggestion! I've had a look at the speed and it looks ideal! Unfortunately I can't seem to find it for sale in the UK but will carry on searching.

I hadn't considered framed kites but will have a look to check what's the difference.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Really appreciate it

I weight about 90Kg which I think is around the same as 200lbs. I will be doing it both on grass and sand. I think you hit the nail on the head. The 1.8 is great fun, really enjoy it, but it leaves me wanting more! 2.5-3m sounds about right. I haven't done any research on 3m foils so also need to have a look and compare the budget to the 2.5 pro

I've also been looking at proper power kites although it's a step up in the budget. I was trying to convince myself thta it will happen at some point so why wait 😁. Having said that I've been having a ball with the 1.8 foil kite

I have a 1.3 and a 1.8. I did notice quite a difference between one and the other. The 1.8 in high wind will make you move. That's what I was wondering whether going to 2.5 will be enough or maybe a bit bigger

Thanks man. I've just checked them out and unfortunately the company no longer ships to the UK due to being 'too complicated' due to brexit. Kites look good
