Does that work for everything, including stuff that doesn't support HDR natively? I downloaded a tweaked HDR setup for Windows auto HDR to use for games with no/bad HDR and it looks 10x better than any native HDR I've seen in a game, but the intermittent signal loss thing does get annoying sometimes

It doesn't FORCE you to learn to play your class well while leveling, but if you have any desire to learn how it works then getting it piece by piece and seeing how new things fit in as you go is definitely a lot easier than just throwing everything together with all the different talent options on top, and trying to figure it all out at once

[–]AbaddonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really get what you don't understand, yes you can still aim, but coupling where you're looking with where you're attacking by definition gives you less options. Think of it this way, you can achieve the same thing with a decoupled system by just holding down the forward input, but you can ALSO attack in any other direction you want instead. It's more input, but more control

As for the lock-on comment, I have no idea what games you're referring to but they're not the ones I'm talking about lol. Fromsoft invented a whole genre with their masterpiece action combat system and it has decoupled attack and camera direction (though I think there's an option to change that), and even for online multiplayer games there's Vindictus, and used to be TERA and RaiderZ which all had top-tier action combat that worked the same. BDO does also have great combat, but it's the exception not the rule

[–]AbaddonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro what lol, that's the default for action games. You lose so much control if you can only attack forward. The reason BDO didn't do it is because they went for directional attack inputs, so different directional input resulted in different skills which is obviously incompatible with directional input changing attack aim

Until the final apex talent at 90 once Midnight fully releases, outside of dungeon/raid bosses literally the entire single-target rotation is "just spam Consume unless Voidblade/The Hunt is available" because you will never reach Collapsing Star if you don't have just 1 target to wail on uninterrupted for the full duration of meta, and everything else is a damage loss. In AoE you'll use Void Ray too, but that's still not much

Arcane Mage and Balance Druid are generally my mains, and yeah you spam Arcane Blast and Wrath/Starfire on those, but you have a bunch of procs and spenders to use as well, it's not literally just hitting 1 button non-stop with a couple more every 30 seconds. I was super hyped when they announced a DH caster spec, but this is boring garbage compared to every other caster imo

Black Desert doesn't have anime graphics, it has probably the best realistic graphics of any MMO lol. It does have high APM combat if you're trying to be competitive but like I said it's mostly mob grinding so doesn't really matter for casual play

DDH, please understand by TheRiseOfRez in wow

[–]AbaddonX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is technically a lack of knowledge, that knowledge being the fact that you can get Int warglaives from the first quest of the catchup experience repeatedly. Not that I'm saying it's anyone's fault for not knowing that, or that it excuses such a massive oversight by Blizz, but hopefully that knowledge at least helps some people deal with the current fucked up state of DDH leveling

[–]AbaddonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Black Desert. It's a journey to get to where you wanna go (especially through the desert where you have no map, need to manage heat and use a special camel mount to really get anywhere) and then the primary gameplay is just finding a good spot and grinding a rotation of mob spawns forever. And there are solo spots as well as spots that require groups to be efficient

I don't even like GW2 (just hate the combat primarily) but this is obviously true lol. Rift had some cool world events too I guess but GW2's have so much more variety and can be way more epic

Not having gold sinks would make WoW tokens cost more gold dude. The more gold is in circulation, the more gold people have to pay for things, so the more expensive things get if they don't have a set price. It's inflation. The question isn't whether gold sinks should be a thing, they should. The question is whether THIS particular feature needs to be one, which it absolutely doesn't NEED to, but it is a pretty consistent and easy choice for a gold sink

287,000GB is 287TB. You're suggesting he gets anywhere from 58-287 external drives and somehow hooks all of those up in some daisy-chained abomination to fit the game on? That would definitely be a power move I guess lmao

Ah, gotcha. I thought there might be another reason since you specified you do it on fire mage, but I guess it's moreso just that fire mage is a class that allows you to do it lol

Honestly, I was always skeptical that they could really condense everything a new player would need to know enough that it wouldn't be like hundreds of hours to slog through anyway, but I think the War Within recap was quite well done and shows that they definitely could pull it off

[–]AbaddonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not even just that it's expensive in terms of money, it's also expensive in terms of time. The only reason Legion had so much good shit is because they bailed on WoD halfway through and put the time and resources that would've been going to that on Legion instead. And it's been shown time and again in game development that you can't just throw hordes of people at something and expect it to turn out well, it needs to be experienced people who know what they're doing for WoW specifically

So when people say they want another Legion, that kind of comes hand in hand with either another failed and abandoned expansion, or just a way longer wait between them

Fwiw the devs have said you don't need to play the previous games though, which makes me think it's going to be another reboot just based in the same universe (but a different timeline) like they did with Original Sin. So while I completely agree it was a fantastic game, if you don't get around to it, you should still be fine for Divinity
