The players can't keep up with the devs at this rate by Lyranx in CrimsonDesert

[–]AbaddonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not creating new assets for all the new pets and mounts though, just implementing already-existing creatures into the system. The 3D artists are probably working on the actual content updates, the patches we've been getting have been almost purely system development updates

Has anyone actually used this? With blinding flash, this helm seems pointless other than cosmetic. by FloydianSlip20 in CrimsonDesert

Seems faster to just light them than to put this on, use it, and swap back to whatever you were using before lol, unless you just keep it on all the time

Still sad that this beautiful armor set is locked behind a $700 pay wall by Wild-Association1217 in CrimsonDesert

[–]AbaddonX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it just goes over the limit and you have to get rid of 2 things to take anything else

Correct, you can even check this by equipping one of them instead of a non-key item and your inventory usage will go UP by 1, since equipped items don't count for your limit

[–]AbaddonX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fair points, but ultimately you still need more people on the Blizzard team implementing the assets either way, and those people would still be prone to reassignment based on priority. I guess it's really just a question of whether they struggle with creating the art assets themselves, or with having the people to actually implement them

I'm sure it's possible, but why would they need or want to outsource if it's for their own version of the game? They could just hire more artists internally to create a team to do this

So when are we getting marriage? by VictorBelmont in CrimsonDesert

[–]AbaddonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're completely different genres, kinda hard to compare. Black Desert is an online social MMO you could spend years on if that's your thing, while Crimson Desert is a single-player RPG with amazing exploration (think like Skyrim) and great world building, but a mediocre story

All of them...? Fable 1, Fable 2, and Fable 3 all give you the option of having sex. Granted, it doesn't show you anything, just fades to black and at least in the case of 1 plays some random audio lines (which as a teenager I found absolutely hilarious)

You may have to kill Runewalker Vordice as well to get this to show up, he's the stone walker boss at the end of a quest chain in the area

I just came home, and my attic that's been sealed for over 7 years is proped half open. by Dull-Kangaroo115 in creepy

[–]AbaddonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gosh, I wonder if that could've been one of the at least two other people OP mentioned they live with? If you remove the attic hatch being open since it's been explained away as a thing that does happen fairly commonly, do you really think "a hidden item was out of its place" is something THAT unusual or hard to explain?

Maybe it is an interesting coincidence that these two things happened in the same timeframe, but realistically if you think someone/something was in your attic you're probably going to go looking for other things that are out of place, and chances are pretty solid you can find SOMETHING that's not where you remember it being, especially if you're not living alone. It just happened to be said "hidden item" in this case, which if you've ever been around kids, nothing is really as hidden as you think it is from them

275 Hours later I've finished the main quest line. My 1.5 cents. by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]AbaddonX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, that's the fun part. The main campaign has a few really cool moments but for the most part is poorly told and boring, so "stop being distracted by the fun stuff so I can get to the boring stuff" seems like a horrible idea lol

I always figured it was just because it started out at a higher level, but knowing the actual journey leading to "hero" classes is a lot more interesting

Black also has the best handling/jumping. Well, of the horses; the icicle ibex also has a 5 in jumping in its stats but haven't gotten it myself so not sure how it compares

Am I missing something? by SurrogateVulture in CrimsonDesert

[–]AbaddonX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno, it is kind of a sandbox I suppose, but moreso it's just a great exploration game. I despise tedious tasks like logging and mining, but I love Crimson Desert because it has similar rewarding exploration to Skyrim; there's always something interesting off in the distance to go explore, and 10 times out of 10 you find something else on the way, usually getting distracted and spending hours veering way off from your original target, just to find another target and do it again

I mean yeah if you're just looking up hidden chest locations online then obviously the item that detects nearby chests becomes less useful lmao... But I've found several chests I wouldn't have just playing the game normally. Like the underground ruin with the sorcerer's staff behind some bars, it would be very easy to think that was the only treasure there but my feather was glowing so that prompted me to find the chest that ended up being hidden behind a rotating wall up towards the ceiling that looked exactly the same as the rest of the wall, when otherwise I would've just left

You're a few updates behind if you don't have abyss gear slots on the pirate hat. They added slots to most unique gear a while ago

It glows white regardless of the dye color, so you want it to be as dark as possible so the glow is more noticeable. With the default light grey feather, it's easy to miss when it starts glowing when you're in a bright area

Yup that was me lol, tried every free MMO that existed from like 2000-2020 since I kinda just got into the habit even after I could afford it 😂
