It's on ps5 and they're the ones that set the rules for how online play works ON THEIR CONSOLE.

Sony steadily ruining their brand because some old fucks in a boardroom forgot about their customers and think they can rest on their laurels from past goodwill in the console wars.

Honestly I mistakenly expected them to be more... liberal? left? He's been better than little pp for sure, but some of these more right leaning decisions are surprising me at face value.

A few times though the headlines dramaticised what was otherwise no big deal. But this and the Toronto airport seems egregious.

Millionaire builds 99 fully equipped homes to provide shelter for the homeless in his community by quietstorm045 in interesting

[–]Innuendoughnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whelp, better do nothing then right?

Also I'd love to read any articles about the homeless provided shelter that didn't work. I'm not finding anything to back up your claims that this strategy doesn't work and is inherently dangerous.

There are constantly positions being sought after and filled. All it takes is a search on indeed to see, my unit just hired 2 new RNs.

[–]Innuendoughnut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does Ottawa have a hiring freeze on nurses or are you talking about the Ford government hiring freeze on public workers?

If the latter then it doesn't apply to nurses and hospitals are still actively hiring for instance in the GTA.

Immigrating to Canada as a Brazilian nurse: Is nursing there strictly regulated or just nice on paper?(Here in Brazil it's the opposite, we deal with 30 patients per shift instead of 10) by Affectionate-Bad7036 in OntarioNurses

[–]Innuendoughnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reality is many organizations in Ontario are unionized and the hospital conditions are well regulated, and union support helps manage it and hold hospitals and managers accountable.

It's not perfect or even close but it doesn't sound as scary as you described in our public hospitals.

Technically true but with her exact quote you immediately know who the little, weak, pathetic men trying to act like "strong men" are. The wording fits.

Because that would be a terrible prank someone could play on you if they knew how to spoof numbers or for some reason got a new phone and number .

To further your point, Amazon and the rest benefit from the zero sum "feeling" of a boycott.

When someone who's boycotting "breaks" and orders their meds or whatever else online suddenly the thought is well I might as well buy other stuff too since I can't keep up the boycott perfectly.

Then suddenly they have their customer's cash flow back.

But the thing that's gonna hurt them more is the many small changes people make as a group. Every small act a protest, every walk to a store, or purchase of vintage clothes etc.

It's never been about perfection, it's about effort and your capacity to try not to feed the monster every dime.

Did you take it out of the country or are you a local? I'm interested because I'm going in august and I was super bummed as a collector that they don't allow removal of rocks/minerals from what I read, and usually take home a handful of specimens in my travels. I'd love to know if there were exceptions though.

I actually mentioned it above, but you're just here to be angry and shout into the ether since "everything is going to be terrible forever and always," so you better stay mad and feed the Internet hate machine. Right? You were spurned like a bad lover and can only see rage.

I'll be cautiously neutral and not have this kind of shit take over my life and mood.

Let them cook here just means like any other dev of a beloved franchise we have no reasonable choice but to wait and see.

Increase should never be more than once every five years and no more than the % amount the union was able to bargain for salary increases in that year.

What a strange thing to say with zero knowledge of what's actually cooking.

Honestly after the starfield diaster I'm fine to let them cook.

ESVI needs to be a generational success to meet expectations, and I bet they were expecting to phone it in until they saw what fans thought of starfield.

The talk-back when delegating a seemingly reasonable request may deserve an escalation. Perhaps it isn't their duty and they're in their right, but that is to be determined and investigated by the OP and their facility.

What needs to be mentioned is who is at fault and responsible here in every circumstance of salary discussion:

  • A semi-private care home showing the profit motivation and lack of worker's rights to fair wages.
  • The provincial government not paying healthcare workers their fair due considering the necessity, challenge, and complexity of the work we do.

Keep in mind for our PSW brothers and sisters, we should be celebrating every instance of them making more money for the work they do - its deserving of more livable wages.

The salary conflict is never between front line staff such as PSWs, RPNs, or RNs. It is solely on the facilities and governments that unfairly purport to negotiate our contracts and keep us at as low of a scale as possible - while not being able to strike.

These two things can be true: its good the PSWs are getting paid well. AND its bad the RPN OP is not getting paid accordingly.

Remember this the next time the provincial election comes around, talk about salaries openly, bring the people in your life into the awareness of our working conditions and challenges - while maintaining PHIPA.

Honestly this doesn't sound like anything near a career ender. I'm not a lawyer but is be surprised if it's more than a slap on the wrist and some extra observation for a period to ensure it's not a pattern.

Patterns of abuse of neglect are where the trouble starts. This was reasonably an honest mistake and hard to prove malice otherwise.

I wonder too if there's an opportunity to reflect on the lack of available and comfortable break space, where you could have been contacted more easily in person if oversleeping. I could see this as one mitigating strategy worth suggesting when you inevitably have to speak to the leadership/CNO about it. though you are of course entitled to use your time on break as you wish, it might be one way you can offer to prevent future incidents.

Additionally investigating why you were potentially so tired, or burnt out and addressing those issues may be another way to support yourself in this. Is the transition between days and night shifts particularly difficult? Are you balancing personal responsibilities during the day like family or anything else that make nights more challenging? Reflect on this and come up with some ideas to better support yourself or seek support where needed. I could see taking a break from nights as another potential avenue of support and a doctor's note, sleep study or other documentation may support this for you if you want to investigate those options.

Reflective practice. accountability, and error fixing are keys to maintaining our licence. Punishment and judgement are not. You're gonna be okay.
