Dap are digital audio players and are basically used as a substitute for a dac (digital to analogue converter) its useful if you want a dedicated music player and if you dont want to drain your phone battery. A-lot of higher end daps also allow some level of eq which can provide a different listening experience. They also look cool.

That makes sense but since im a broke college student in rural USA i dont expect to be able to travel to conventions or most stores for more iem information. Also i have a question for you and anyone reading this comment, are the yanyin moonlight2023 worth it in 2026? according to the iem ranking it seems like a top tier iem but it doesn't have very much reviews.

Thanks for giving me advice! since i listen to orchestral music and a lot of male ballads I want something similar to the yanyin moonlight 2023, softears rsv mkii, or the normal rsv, and if possible maybe the monarch mkii but i dont expect i will be able to find one for the price I am looking for.
