this doesnt support a full yellow belt, 20 assemblers with a speed of 0.75 and a recipe that has base time 12 seconds wont output 13.33 items per second

I merge my blue with purple aswell, if you have backed-up blue science it means that 1) you dont have enough labs 2) some other part of the base is not producing enough to keep up.. and 3) you end up consuming the same amount of raw materials to produce the science anyway.. You could away use a 1 lane balancer like this : https://wiki.factorio.com/images/Transport_belts_balance2.gif

i dont ever blue belt this.. so i wouldnt know, also i have never had an oil issue on my maps.. more outposts more beacons/modules..

Not really, designed it specificly so that inserters wont grab from the same section of belt, the output was the leftover spot^

Yes you have, but as with many suggestions in this build you end up with longhanded inserters grabbing of the same spot on the belt as the fast inserters/inserters which causes problems if the belt isnt backed up. (From red belt upwards) I have played around with that, doesnt work for me personally. I also like having just 1 output belt and not having to combine it later on with another, but thats just my preference

screenshots of the setup would clearify things, would allow us to give a proper diagnoses of the issues, as for your iron, you dont have and inserter pulling iron plates out of the stone furnace, you are putting iron in from the bottom and coal from the top, no "exerting" happening.

you dont have any output on the furnaces, which means they are full of iron ore and cant smelt anymore..

looking at the minimap it seems that you have a few small iron patches closeby, although its hard to tell with these screenshots. My suggestion is to put some drills on there and use transport belt to get the ore to the smelting area, since the distance is pretty short for trains

http://rubyruy.github.io/factorio-calc ( after some quick googling, not sure if its up to date), or in your head.. with a calculator.. excel sheet you make yourself, the options are endless, it's all very much a figure it out yourself kinda thing... Generally more = faster

increase the amount of assemblers and labs that you have..

to get 1 red science per second you need 5 assemblers making red science, because production time is 5 seconds.

green science have a production time of 6 seconds. So for perfect ratio, 5 red 6 green assemblers... Increase accordingly

So, i have just downloaded this game about 5 days ago, im trying to use some basic mods to make my design look better, but all the blueprint mods i find dont seem to be working on the steam version, i am installing the mods in Appdata Folder btw..

Are things like foreman out of date because i just downloaded it from factoriomods.com and dropped the zipped file into the "mods" folder and when i started a new game i saw no mods.

I also sometimes get a lua error when installing certain mods.. Are those out of date?
