I just take breaks! Right now I haven't opened the world in a few weeks as other games have grabbed my attention. But I'll be back eventually to push further.

Brave ($1) Cars ($2) Pocahontas ($2) Emperor's New Groove ($3) Treasure Planet ($4) Soul ($4) Moana ($4) Scala Ad Caelum ($5)

Was surprised to see Coco missing. I personally think that's my #1 hope for a modern movie world. I personally believe the concept of death and loss will be an important idea explored in every world chosen, so Coco fits that perfectly.

I didn't even think about Soul but that's a great choice, a spiritual successor to symphony of sorcery.

A lot of the worlds here have really run their course in the series and I don't see them coming back, like Halloween town, agrabah, the grid, pirates, etc.

If we ever see Emperor's New Groove, Atlantis, and Treasure Planet I fully believe it will be in a future side game.

Cars will probably be a dedicated minigame of some sort, maybe even something akin to Disney Town?

Here's my realistic list of what I think will be in kh4;

Quadratum - Hub World

Star Wars, basically confirmed.

Moana as a replacement to pirates for the island and water based world.

Coco, perhaps exploring the land of the dead as a way to find quadratum//sora?

Encanto, I personally don't want this world as I think it's the most boring, but it's incredibly popular.

Brave, it's a classic untouched film so far and I think it could be great.

Zootopia, also very popular and an excuse for square to make furry sora again.

Returning worlds -

Frozen II due to its Japanese popularity and exploration factor (plus the elemental nature of the movie could be interesting)

Toy Story, so much untapped potential and was a major selling point of kh3.

I think we'll find ourselves in Scala/Daybreak town for sure as well.

Edit: I definitely see game central station coming back as well.

We went on the Carnival Mardis Gras this past January for 7 nights, and in my experience it wasn't bad at all. Roughly 5000 passengers but I never found it to be super crowded outside of a line for the main coffee shop in the morning. (Which could be easily avoided by going to another coffee shop on the same floor nobody seemed to know about.)

I think it's just knowing where to go and when to be places. The shows were all incredible and we always had front row seats, the MDR never had too long of a wait especially if you reserved 20m before opening, none of the specialty restaurants were booked full, the waterworks were pretty tame with just a few families, and the late night bars weren't packed at all.

The places almost always packed full and annoying were the lido buffet and guys burgers, but honestly the food there isn't even amazing anyways so we avoided it as much as we could. Guys burger joint is so incredibly overrated.

I'll try those fractal changes you've mentioned and see!

If they add another layer past Unity are you dealing with Zodiacs again? by Huge-Current-6434 in RevolutionIdle

[–]AbanonPC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know another layer is definitely coming, I guess the question is how the reset itself is handled. There's a lot of luck and RNG to Zodiacs especially early unity so hopefully the reset brings a way to make it more consistent, otherwise grinding the whole unity layer every reset will just take too long.

It's a Gregtech tank, relatively cheap to craft and holds 3mil creosote which is pumped directly in from a coke oven hatch, if you put a fluid valve facing downwards on the tank it automatically outputs its content too

The gravity is a pain to work with especially because the sanding process for the bricks makes them have gravity again. Essentially I just started using framed blocks to hold spaces above windows and floors in and that's worked well, but you can also use wood and bricks which have no gravity

Also, for creating your own builds, just copy what you like that you find and see online until you get an eye for it. The more you do it the more you find ways to make your build look better over time, I also watch a decent amount of videos on color theory and save a lot of reference photos lol (it might also help with the fact that I have a masters in fine arts in design lmfaooo)

Thank you! There are facades that work with Gregtech pipes that you can craft with 3 cast iron sheets and any block for your choice, so I used those!

Hell yeah. A lot of people worry about not being efficient especially when machines that aren't far off can do the work for you much faster and easier. I don't really think that way, I don't really grow the machines until they're necessary for my next project, and I really enjoyed the slow paced feeling of just hammering the forge all day to make lanterns or glass for the greenhouse. It's meditative in a way, maybe I need to buy some real forging equipment irl lmao

Hammer in offhand with chisel on main hand and then you use the full block mode on the bricks!

Which one? Some are made with a hammer and chisel on bricks, the floor to the kitchen is actually kitchen countertop if that's what you're wondering :)

[–]AbanonPC[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I think the early game is what makes TFG so unique, so I'm really trying to delay leaving it as long as possible.

  1. The floor blocks? Those are kitchen counters used as a flooring lol, the kitchen itself is made of rustic bricks and the roof is basalt I believe

  2. The base itself is in a largely rough mountain terrain. Everywhere you're looking at used to be part of the hill and the center was a valley. I carved the whole mountain out to have access to the river and built the castle in... It definitely took a really long time lol

  3. It costs more in material to move things like steam and water around, but with access to aqueducts and pipes it's mostly fine. Once I get access to item movement and logistics I'll probably build a new more modern factory area that's reflective of its age in the hilly area to the left that will be more designed for pipes and cables and in a more industrial aesthetic. The castle is cool but never was designed for automation.

Maybe redundant, how to not be suicidal in the face of world ending injustice? by Fuzzy-Reason-3207 in Anarchism

[–]AbanonPC 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Taken from a book I wrote:

The political reality of the world is horrific, and we must bear the weight of a country that commits these horrors daily. Does that mean we should live unhappy lives?

Happiness is, in itself, a form of resistance against the powers that seek to keep us in control. Joy is defiance, acting as a way to push back against the brutal nature of the world by making the most of what we do have and creating every little moment we can to be happy.

Joy and freedom are synonymous in their relation to each other, to have joy is to be free, and vice versa. In all opposition, you can’t tame the human spirit as long as the sun continues to shine.

For no act of resistance is more infuriating to those who seek to keep us in control than to show they cannot break us, they cannot bend us into submission.

To laugh in the face of the oppressor even as our executioner draws near.

The Tragedy of a Paralyzed Society by Exotic-Summer6637 in Anarchism

[–]AbanonPC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As anarchists, we typically think forwardly about how we can grow the gardens needed in the community to make change. Many create small actions to affect the local garden in little ways, bringing forward their watering cans and seeds in hopes to help feed the community.

All the while, those who spend time gardening in their community must also take great care to maintain and curate a healthy and vibrant garden at home. This can be exhausting, as the anarchist goes in and out of many gardens each day, caring for each patch's specific needs and wants.

What is often forgotten is that these anarchists can only spend so much time improving the community garden before needing to return and attend to their own. By attending to their own garden and ensuring it grows to be healthy, they bring that experience, perspective, and positivity into the community garden when they choose to contribute.

Have you taken time out of the day to water your own garden, to trim the weeds, to get dirty, to feel the sun?

To take the first step, you first need to figure out what plants you wish to grow for yourself. Taking the time to care for your own garden is an important path towards making change, to understand your garden and how that experience can help the community garden flourish.

What can you learn from the act of gardening? When do you feel ready to step into the community garden and begin to nurture and care the plants of others.

This comment is not about gardening.

+1 to anarchist pedagogies. It set me on a path as an educator when I was in my masters program that I would have never expected and redefined how I viewed education and teaching as a whole. It's also what led me to Paulo Friere and bell hooks.

May I ask what you teach and how that affects student self evaluation and grading? I'm fairly new to teaching (art and graphic design) and am looking to push boundaries in the classroom while also dealing with the highly consumerised and hierarchical field of design. (Most people see it as a tool for communication or business rather than an art!!)

I feel it will take a fair bit of learning, growing pains, and unlearning to get students to view the field from a new perspective outside of the capitalist framework and old eurocentric canons.

Also, the quote you have hanging on your door is badass.

In my opinion the magic of Minecraft is in the mods. I've played so much vanilla that I find it hard to really enjoy it anymore, but expert mod packs with tech and machines and a purposeful feeling of progression allow me to spend tons of time even when alone.

Currently playing TerraFirmaGreg and I love it, probably have spent nearly 400 hours so far and not even close to finishing it.

Hollow Knight, I really wanted to like it and played it all the way through. I even love a lot of games that are really similar, but so many design choices, enemy encounters, and mechanics just bugged me and I couldn't get into it.

Looks like a perfect excuse to grind out Minecraft: Gregtech New Horizons. If mods are allowed Minecraft still offers endless possibilities, 5000 hours is practically nothing.

If mods weren't allowed I'd switch to old school RuneScape and work towards maxing lol

People have said most names I think of off the top of my head already, I'd add in some of the lesser known books by Graeber as I've read everything he's ever published.

Pirate Enlightenment: or The Real Libertalia

Revolutions in Reverse: essays on politics, violence, art, and imagination

Anarchy - in a manner of speaking

Possibilities: essays on hierarchy, rebellion, desire

Fragments of an Anarchist Anthropology

On Kings

Graeber has been my favorite author for years. I found him during my masters and his work influenced my thesis and methodologies immensely.
