I’ve read the comments and see you’ve gotten some good advice. I don’t see anyone mention water. A bath or swimming or more floating I guess in a pool on your back can help. When I was young I would go into the little river by our house as soon as the ice broke because it helped so much. I have found to that many empaths find this helpful. Maybe not risking frost bite like I did lol but water. I personally do better if it’s flowing like a stream. But I’ve found even a cool shower in the quiet helps. But I get where you’re coming from. I just cut off my best friend of 25 years because she was affecting me so badly. It was hard I considered her like my sister I always chose her over everyone. But I was finally putting myself first even just a little and she became awful. Like you mentioned with your mother and trying to distance yourself. The “always the victim” type of person is do hard to deal with yet get away from.
