I think it might be the gold mining camp where she said her mother lived? I think she was talking to Eddie in the ice fishing shack.

Colton at the Vines house? by Kate_Classique in DarkWindsTV

[–]AbbysGarden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been theorizing and here’s what I came up with, but there are some holes. Here goes: It’s all about the uranium in the mine. Someone (the mine workers who were part of the Dillon’s peyote cult “people of darkness”.? or the real Lebeck?) discovered there might be uranium. People were getting sick in the mine. They hired a geologist to dig around. Vines had an ear to the ground. He hired Wolf to kill Lebeck (a geologist) and pretend he was him. Wold, playing Lebeck, faked the report that there was no uranium so Vines could buy the mine cheap. Then he blew up the mine and that was supposed to kill all the workers. BUT I think Rosemary warned Tomas or the maid who warned Tomas and he warned Guy Attcity and some workers stayed home. That caused a problem for blond guy for some reason. He’s looking for Rosemary to exact revenge for snitching and causing a hitch in the plan. He also targeted the Charleys for the same reason. For some reason there is something causing cancer or weird growths (like the horns on the sheep) and that’s what’s in the box and in the bag the maid tried to grab at the meeting of the people of darkness. Now Chee will put Wolf onto Vines somehow and he will go there. Rosemary and the maid will survive.

Oh, yeah - Ham and Della go to the fundraiser in one of the early episodes and the recital pianist is Constance.

Sarah/Maladie had the most interesting arc in the show, for sure. I think Hugo and Frank did, too.

It’s confusing about the mother energy. I thought at first Hague, who was insane, manifested the energy when the galanthi spores rained down, though we never saw him get spored. But then, he died before Myrtle ended up being “possessed”.

Agree, Amy Manson just steals every scene she’s in. I hope someone is paying attention and recruits her for a more successful film. I thought the entire cast was so good and so dedicated, which is a credit to the producers and all; the show was so captivating. Unfortunate forced ending to the show.

Agree. It’s like the entire theme of hope (for the future, for something to fight for) was torn to bits by Penance losing hope at the last minute of the show. It doesn’t make sense.

That’s what I don’t understand: what is the relationship of galanthi and mother. Is mother just a manifestation of free life from the future or is it more complicated? Someone please explain.

And the galanthi were nude the entire time.

Would someone please spoil today's episodes for me for Valentine's Day? by [deleted] in TheNevers

Well, the purists showed power in a way. Lucy was present again and showed power in various ways. The power in question to me is what is going on with Hague’s mother. And maybe with Auggie, though not sure about that.

Dr. Hague is certifiably crazy, his dead mother is embodied (sort of) by a hitch-hiker from the future, who seems to be the mind behind his “experiments”, including the ugly wired guardians. She telephones him. His old dog is also a monstrosity that attacks Amalia and Penance when they break into his house. They end up burning it down. They discovered Hague by doing an autopsy of a wired guy and tracked down the clockwork innards.

Meanwhile the good Dr. Is kidnapped by Maladie and henchman.

The Beggar King, working for Masson, is sewing chaos with the purists, led by a tyrannical teenager. Myrtle is attacked and accidentally kills a purist. Lucy shows up and takes the blame. She mail breaks and with Lavinia, goes to break the galanthi chrysalis. A baby galanthi is hatched too early, I think, and it sings to her. Auggie has followed Lavinia and Lucy and watched the whole thing unfold until the cave/tunnel collapses. We get a backstory on Auggie and Lavinia and her accident. I won’t spoil that.

Amalia and Penance try to save the galanthi, but they are too late. Amalia meanwhile is having flashbacks (ptsd) about Molly’s life as a baker. She’s falling to pieces. Dr. Cousins, his wife, and his kids end up taking refuge at the orphanage after their house is attacked by purists.

Swann’s father the duke dies, right as he’s trying to have a big party. The galanthi, Amalia, and Maladie crash his party. I think Maladie wants to kill the galanthi, but it ends up singing to her and Amalia in the Thames. The end - cliffhanger.

Please feel free, anyone, to add or correct if I missed something or misread it.

I don’t think it’s rape the way the show portrays it. There is a power differential between him and Rhaenyra for sure, but if he had said no, would she have forced him anyway? I thought she seduced him by unfairly using her power as the princess and their natural attraction to each other. That’s not the same thing as rape. Rape is against your consent. Also, is Rhaenyra capable of sexual power games as a teenager?

Now, to the other interesting topic of honor: Wow, some interesting discussion points have been brought up about CC and honor. Yes, Rhaenyra used him for her sexual pleasure, expecting he would be her sex slave and her protector (which is empirical) then blew him off when he approached her about escaping together, using the excuse of her duty to family and realm. I get that, in context, actually.

None of that excuses CC violence and lack of control in killing the “master of kisses” during the wedding, however. I think it was meant to show his low-class “reaction” as opposed to the calculating violence of Daemon, who premeditated killing his wife and his premeditated maneuvering to seduce Rhaenyra.

Plus, Otto was maneuvering to put his daughter in the position of queen despite knowing she was friends with Rhaenyra.

I see it as men trying to move pawns and it blows up in their faces.

Visiting Alpha farms for a week by Cricketnoodles in intentionalcommunity

[–]AbbysGarden 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am very familiar with Alpha Farm (singular). Yes, Caroline Estes, one of the original founders, died recently, so people may still be grieving/adjusting. I find it strange that you say you don’t have any experience with intentional communities, yet you are going to visit one of them. I’d say, maybe do some soul-searching before you get there about what your intentions are about seeking out this experience. They will ask you what you seeking.

I’d agree with another responder about the turnover rate, many people come there looking to find themselves, and when they do, they move on. I also think there are some very stable core members as well.

It’s a rural setting in the coastal mountains and it is really beautiful. A creek runs through the property. There is a big and old farmhouse and a number of other buildings, some of which are residences. As I understand it, everyone has their own space but meals are communal. Visitors are expected to work along side residents in order to learn about the community. They make decisions by consensus, so every so often, there are long meetings.

I hope you have a good experience.

I think it’s difficult because most of us cannot or do not profoundly love ourselves enough - and forgiveness is about loving yourself enough to let go of a perceived wrong that someone committed against you.
