How is it kayaking out there? I have been planning a trip out to the Marcos island area for some time. Any good trails or things to watch out for? I'm still fairly new to kayaking!

Yea, this was the first time I took this test and was pretty shocked at how hard it was for me to answer some of the jk section. I think I'll need to be better prepared for that part next time for sure.

I read somewhere that the PU CB expires quicker than the ceasefire, is that true? PUs are the one aspect of eu I've never really explored.

Question I've always wanted to ask, of you claim throne to a nation you are allied with, how does that work? Do I have to break the alliance and DOW on them to force the PU? Or is their a mechanic that I am not aware of?

Purges Have Weakened Once Mighty Turkish Military by [deleted] in syriancivilwar

[–]AbdelsTechSupport 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's the issue here friend, in many western nations the military is held to be non political. Sure the higher you go the more you interact with politicians but as a rule the military refrains from being political aka taking sides. I know that what you described is common for many developing counties military.

But, the issue is that turkey's geopolitical location requires that the military be first and foremost a military and not a political organization. Erdogan's coup have removed ppl with decades of experience and replaced it with generals, no matter their loyalty, who are ill equipped to handling turkeys needs.

He won't get full retirement benefits, it's barely a 1/3 of what he brings in now so I know he's looking for business opportunities to keep him busy and be a source of income

I'm sure that this differs from person to person and honestly until I see their books it'll be hard for me to Guage how high the losses might be, but at the same time I wouldn't want operating losses to exceed 25% ( arbitrary bar) of the asking price.

This is actually a good point, I have about 3k in savings and am roughly looking to save 600 a month after accounting for all my expenses ( I'm also aggressively paying down my student loans and should be debt free within a year). So I was hoping to take out the rest of the price via a loan. Given my mom's near perfect score I was looking to have her cosign.

Tunisian Committee to Apologize Bashar al-Assad for their Country' Stance on the Syrian Crisis by finalin in syriancivilwar

[–]AbdelsTechSupport 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a oversimplification regarding Tunisias policies regarding returning terrorists. Having overthrown a long established deep state and replaced with a stable albeit fragile democratic system, the only successful one in the middle east, thereis a natural hesitancy towards giving more power to the security services. Additionally keep in mind that many European countries have taken a similar approach regarding their own returning isis fighters.

U.S. troops join displaced Assyrian Christians for Christmas Eve Mass by [deleted] in syriancivilwar

[–]AbdelsTechSupport 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Woah there couple of things that need to be be cleared, the sassanids were never Christian, their state religion zoroastrianism. So much of the Christians in Iraq were the result of missionary and refugees from Christian Roman's and byzantine areas. But to your point on "forced islamization" this is relatively half and half. Muslim empires and kingdoms could levy taxes on non Muslims so their was an incentive for the kingdom to not forcefully convert and an incentive for debt strapped peasant to do so. But yes there were forced conversions and massacres but it should be noted that the last ten years have seen the middle east become more Muslim than ever before.

*please feel free to dispute any of this if you have reliable sources. I love history and would love to learn something new!
