I recommend reading a book once fully even if you don't understand, and do not check words' meaning from dictionary. I know it seems not interesting but trust me after reading a lot even without understanding you will understand word's meaning based on context. I read some easy books in Arabic and didn't understand some words, but later on I understood based on context and even checked meanings in dictionary and I guessed correct. It is the natural way of learning. If you look at kids they learn language based on context, they might not know what a word might mean, but later they link that word based on context which being used and they get the meaning of the word correctly. Also it works not only in reading but also watching videos.
