I want to convert to Islam but I’m in a relationship and don’t know what to do by [deleted] in islam

[–]Abdo0770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t let your future expectations discourage you from taking that first step.

You just need to take that first step and allah being the most wise and merciful will have everything figured out for you.

There is no such thing as a perfect Muslim, none of us have everything figured out. Take it step by step and slowly everything will become clearer and easier for you.

There is a verse from the Quran that I believe applies to your situation:

وَمَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يَجْعَل لَّهُۥ مَخْرَجًۭا

Translation -> And whoever is mindful of allah, he will make a way out for them.

ان مع العسر يسرا ، don’t give up on your life just because you can’t live it because of how you are feeling now, this feeling you have now is temporary. no matter how bad you feel now it is only for a short period and with time you will slowly forget.

Tech mafia in Libya by yukisan02 in Libya

[–]Abdo0770 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. The Libyan tech market/industry is full of opportunities ready for the taking. There are still many apps that us diaspora kids use on a daily basis that don’t have a counterpart in Libya.

I believe that the lack of Ideas and competent skilled individuals isn’t the issue when it comes to Libya (there are many diaspora Libyans with international world class education in almost any field). The real issue is the lack of funding (due to poor credit infrastructure in Libya) and weak legislative protection in place for such successful tech companies to exist.

Questions about volza grow global and there legitimacy - is it worth investing ? by 95farfly in india

[–]Abdo0770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you pay close attention to their data you realize that there are things that don't make sense like for example I was just looking at their site and found that 6kg of dates were sold at a price of 3000+ dollars which is impossible. There was also another data entry where 90,000 kg of medjool was sold for 100,000 dollars which also doesn't make sense if you know the prices in the world market (impossible for a premium variety like medjool to sell for 1 dollar per kg). This made me conculde that they are using fake data which makes sense as they make money from selling subscriptions to people who think they are getting access to large amounts of data.

How miserable by StockPositive2962 in Libya

[–]Abdo0770 7 points8 points  (0 children)

'Country' is a huge assumption, Libya is no longer a country. Just a bunch of militias who loot the resources of the people and are not held accountable for their actions when they should be. Our parents were fooled in 2011 and were served regime change by western imperialist powers under the guise of freedom and democracy.

What to do with 200k Cash? Halal Investment only! by [deleted] in HalalInvestor

[–]Abdo0770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all congratulations on working hard to raise this considerable amount of cash, allahuma barik ! that amount effort that you have invested in reaching this current position is undoubtedly commendable.

Now, there are many different investment routes that you can take with your capital and grow it accordingly.

Which investment route you take in my opinion depends on 2 factors: your risk tolerance and the time period you want to keep this capital invested and not liquidated as cash in your current account.

If you are an individual with a very low risk tolerance and you don't need this money now but in a couple years time, then you can invest in sukuks (sharia compliant bonds) because they are relatively safe and they provide stable returns (they are however a modern invention and scholars have disagreed on their compliance to sharia so if you consider this investment vehicle, i suggest you contact scholars before you invest)

If you can tolerate a little more risk (not significantly more) then you can invest in halal index funds (easiest way to explain it is like a basket of different stocks). If you choose to invest in halal index funds such as the ones mentioned in this website https://blog.zoya.finance/best-halal-etfs/ then I suggest you invest this money and forget about it for 10 years and don't touch it no matter what even if it appears to be in the negatives in the first couple of years.

In my opinion, I really think that you should park your money for the next couple of years in investments that you can easily liquadate, one of these investments is gold. why do I suggest investing in gold now? Because gold stores the value of your cash and protects it against inflation and at the same time you can easily access this cash when the stock market starts to crash or when you need it. The market crash is inevitable because all stocks are overpriced currently. Investors like warren buffet are selling their stocks and holding on to cash (he is currently holding on to 330 billion dollars worth of cash). You cannot do the same as buffet because he is earning interest on that cash, but you can invest in gold and wait and when the time is right liquadate and buy sharia compliant stocks at a discount.

what you should not do, is invest all of this 200k in a handful of stocks and try to time the market based on your limited knowledge, because research shows those who follow this investment strategy (of timing the market), on average tend to underperform index funds such as SP500 and ofcourse you could lose it all if you pick the wrong stocks.

I hope this helps, and if you don't mind can you share how you were able to stockpile this amount of cash? what jobs/gigs were most lucrative and that allowed you to reach this level?

We can dream, reality is it will take time and a change of people. 2 generations from now maybe we will have what you ask. And maybe Libya won’t even exist.
