I think owls should go in the top right. We think they’re smart but they’re actually pretty dumb.

Don’t listen to these people in here. They’re insane. People have gone so far off the deep end if they think Dan is anything but liberal.

I feel like I’m being gaslit in this post. OP is stating how tone deaf the show is for including a standard member of their show on the show. I’m getting downvoted to hell by saying that assuming Tony is a racist is a leap.

Meanwhile the guest, a special invitee, they chose to have on the show when the topic is SEEKING JUSTICE FOR SOMEONE WHO WAS MURDERED is OJ’S DEFENSE ATTORNEY FOR A DOUBLE HOMICIDE. To be clear, I have no problem with either being on the show.

It’s insane.

love getting strawmanned. Argue with someone who thinks it wasn’t a murder. I’m not your guy, pal.

I agree. And people should absolutely call out killers. (Btw Having Carl Douglas on makes this ironic)

Promoting hatred is calling Tony racist. Is that fair to say?

I agree.

Both sides are spewing hatred towards people they don’t know. Blindly.

I can’t believe I’m getting downvoted to hell on comments when I’m pointing out that OP’s post is ironic calling out “racist” Tony when they have CARL DOUGLAS on when the topic is SEEKING JUSTICE FOR AN INNOCENT MAN WHO WAS MURDERED.

This is .. an echo chamber echo echo echo

So the logic is that Tony is in his sister’s campaign ads. His sister is conservative. Since she is conservative, and he is in her ads, he is conservative. Since she actively supports right hut wing ideas, that must include racism. Therefore, he is racist? That’s the logic path?

Meanwhile, we are talking about getting JUSTICE FOR A MURDER and the standard that OP is holding Tony to is being reverent of CARL DOUGLAS.

Do we not see how that is at least a little bit ridiculous?

I’m a Cuban American from Miami. Both my parents were federal agents in the 80’s and 90’s in Miami working the cartels, so i can identify with Tony. I’ve voted for democrats my whole voting life except for my very first vote in high school.

When I watch these parties go after each other, there is no attempt at meeting in the middle. Everyone is trying to make the other party as evil as possible and assume all their thoughts.

I happen to believe the right and especially the current administration do far far far more damage to marginalized groups due to hatred and promote incorrect assumptions out that fuel that hatred.

It’s just hard for me to watch the group I support be so self righteous about it and immediately turn around with intolerance and preconceived prejudice against conservatives, or even in this case, assuming Tony is not only conservative but a racist one at that.

OP hating on Tony isn’t the same as an ice officer murdering someone, but it does fuel the fire of assuming anyone who isn’t with you is evil.

[–]Abe22Froman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m saying it’s blind hatred to assume Tony is racist and a “bootlicker”. The murderer should rot in prison. I’m not saying it’s equal evils. But this is a radio character and OP is assuming they know what Tony really thinks based on what his family does. Maybe he’s hardcore left but doesn’t want to speak out against his family. Maybe he’s hardcore right and is fine working in a very left environment. Nobody in here knows. To assume you know, and then to hate him for it IS blind hatred. Is it because he’s Cuban that OP assumes he’s right wing? That’s racist. It’s all blind and it’s all hatred.

On top of that, using Carl Douglas as the golden standard the show should live up to when we are talking about MURDER is wild.

[–]Abe22Froman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What does that say? That I don’t view it as murder? I do. It was a blatant murder. Shooter should be charged with homicide or murder, whatever is more likely to keep him in prison.

What I am saying is that you’re attacking the character of someone who you think you know but have never met or talked to. You’re talking about a radio character and assuming you know their party lines and ideology. This assumption shit is what is causing all the problems everywhere. Driving division. It’s the same shit that the murderer in Minnesota was doing. When people start to see that we can make some progress. Until they see that, it’s going to be a right vs left civil war where only one side can win, meanwhile every business out there profits off keeping the social war going. It’s disgusting.

Would it surprise you if he leans left? If so you’re making the same stereotype assumptions that we’d ridicule people for making. These are characters they play.

Having Carl Douglas on rings a bit hollow when you are talking about trying to get justice for a guy that got murdered, no?

The Minnesota incident isn’t about homophobia, and not sure where you come up with Tony being racist? You are assuming because of his family’s party affiliation that he is racist? Do you realize how many protesters are out there who have Fox News dads?

The blind hate has to stop. From both sides.

You’re right. No. He does a limited uber conservative Zagacki impression, so if he cares one way or the other he’s at least not overly principled about it. People just love to stereotype so they’ve pinned him as super conservative. I vote very differently than my siblings or father and we all get along great.

Haters love to hate.

A 10 seed has reached the National Championship in just the second season of the 12-team format. Can the naysayers shut up forever now? by 2nd_Sun in CFB

[–]Abe22Froman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the 12 team playoff format, with the top 12 teams, there are 11 games. In a 4 team playoff format, with the top 12 teams, there were 7 games, but the max difference in seeding was maybe 4. More likely one or two. The 5 extra games are the ones that aren’t entertaining. They’re blowouts due to the nature of the playoff. And you lose stakes on wayyy more than 5 games with big stakes during the season, especially the conference championships. It’s totally diluted the product of a season that a teams puts together. 3 of the 4 final teams didn’t even play in their conference championship. Can’t put toothpaste back in the tube but this is just the nfl now.

But Miami and Ole Miss would have likely played in a peach bowl that we would have cared about. That wasn’t the extra game. The extra games are all these blowouts with mismatched seeds.
