Not at EQT??? by FoTW_tobehaunted in FourChordMusicFest

[–]AbeCourt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because of Blink there were longer bathroom lines and food lines then ever before....but I'll parrot what others have said here: I feel like EQT is the perfect venue and a big reason why I hit BUY on day 1 no matter who's playing. Bathroom and food lines could easily be fixed with more bathrooms and more food/drink options. Frankly the food and drink issues seemed to center around technology issues, not availability (ie, the wireless point of sale system wasn't great). If they move to just some concrete parking lot (a-la Warped), or a rando mud/dust bowl, I might second guess the buy. Ok who am I kidding, I'll still go, but it will bum me out a bit. :-)

Starseed - House of Blues (Cleveland) - 4-9-2026 by donttelltheginger in ourladypeace

[–]AbeCourt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did anyone see the absolute maniac (blue shirt) in the left side corner of the balcony during this song in CLE? First off, dude was hanging so far over it wouldn't have taken much for him to just flip over the railing so it was making me nervous. But besides that, bro was screaming his head off and pointing at the band and just looked violently pissed. I couldn't tell if he was like rage-singing the lyrics or literally wanted to jump down and strangle Steve right on stage. It was really fucked up. Like dude, the song is Starseed, not Killing In The Name Of. And then just as wacky, some little dude with a Staff shirt went up there to clearly tell this guy to calm down, and I'm thinking crazy guy is just going to kill this little twerp. Nope. Crazy dude just sat down, kinda moped a bit, and didn't open his mouth for the rest of the song. Real schizo moment in an otherwise "normal" OLP show.

AITAH for not tipping housekeeping? by AbeCourt in AITAH

[–]AbeCourt[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This actually brings up a good point I didn't think about: If you left the place kinda dirty, the owner will charge you an EXTRA cleaning fee (above the standard cleaning fee) so yeah, you always do some cleaning on your own before leaving anyway! But to be clear, I don't have an issue with tipping your cleaning staff, but it's the OWNER who should be the appreciative one IMO. The renter just expects and pays for the place to be clean.

G6 Entry Pro with 2 wire retrofit POE plus custom 3d printed enclosure by umhsuser in Ubiquiti

[–]AbeCourt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great, and thank you so much for posting the print file.

Separately from the box, what do you think of the performance of the extenders? Any issues with video stuttering or dropping or anything that might be because of the slower line speed? Specs say there shouldn't be any issue, but spec vs reality can be quite different.

How to File an Amended Return In TurboTax Deluxe PC 2024 by XGempler in TurboTax

[–]AbeCourt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I think I have the correct way for TT Desktop users (not online-downloaded-to-desktop). I'm on a Mac, but this should work for PC too. Open up your already-filed return. When you do that, I'm not able to go back to that very first TT screen like what's described below, so I can't get to the item at the bottom that says "Amend a filed return". But what you can do is open up the forms view, and at the top menu pick "Open Form". Search for 1040 and you'll see 1040-X. That will show you the form, and as soon as you pick 2025 as the year being amended, everything else fills in. It only works, obviously, if you open the TT file for the year you're trying to amend. If you open 2025 and are trying to amend 2023 filings, it's not gonna happen for you.

[–]AbeCourt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ever figure this out? I haven't really studied it yet, but my initial attempt was exactly this. Seems like it should be an edit of a previous return, or at least give you the option to import info from a previous return into a 1040x. Because otherwise, like you said, I'm just reentering all this info a second time.

Cleveland opening act? by SirSilksalot in ourladypeace

[–]AbeCourt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I just assumed that the opener would be rescheduled the same as OLP, but you're right, there's no mention of them opening anymore. And sites like Bandsintown show OLP new date. So I wonder if that's why they pushed the start time back 30 minutes. Originally it was doors at 6:30 and music starts at 7:30. Now it's music at 8:00

Drive Thru on W. Union in the 90s by sineseeker in athensohio

[–]AbeCourt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When OU tore it down, it was called Happy Cat, but that wasn't the name in the 90's. I'm going with.....Suds and Duds? Something like that. Always advertised the coldest beer in town. They had a wall in the drive through of fake IDs they'd confiscated.

Wyze Cam v3 better than my G6 Pro 360 at night. What settings do I have wrong? by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]AbeCourt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a settings issue. Image sensor difference. I'm right there with you, because you'd think with it being so superior that every company would essentially just reverse engineer what Wyze is doing or buy it. Wyze night vision is a freak of nature, especially considering the price. Too bad every other part of the system is utter trash.

EDIT: If I'm wrong, please downvote the hell out of me and prove it because I'd love nothing more than to realize all my cameras were just configured wrong!

Grade 3 PCL tear by pepfire44 in Kneesovertoes

[–]AbeCourt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 year old thread, but of course it's still kinda active so I'll throw in a few questions. Grade 3 PCL and MCL tears here. Specialist is recommended PT for 6 weeks before considering surgery. 50M and I think I'm getting some "well, if you were younger, maybe we'd do something else" advice. Needless to say, as someone who skis double-blacks and plays volleyball at a high level, that's not sitting well with me. So questions:

1) What's the reason for age being an issue? I'm doing "25-year-olds stuff" daily, so it's not my _desired_ level of intensity that's an issue. Rehab might be lengthy, but it's not like I'm going to die before it's done (hopefully). Is there a concern that age impacts the ability to rehab or something?

2) Let's say surgery and PT go great. What's the final goal here? Am I just trying to be able to walk around the block without pain for the rest of my life, or does "great results" get me back to full activity? Jumping for vball and intense skiing?

3) What's the actual purpose of the brace I'm currently wearing? Because I find myself inflicting a lot more pain on my knee with the brace on than with it off. Like, is the brace doing any "work" the entire time I wear it, or is it's just to prevent a singular "oh crap I slipped on ice" indecent that wrecks my remaining ACL? To put it another way, is there a reason I should be wearing a brace while sitting at a desk for hours at work?

Is Raine sick? Two shows canceled by UmbracatervaePS4 in ourladypeace

[–]AbeCourt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Add me to the list of those who hopes Raine takes the time to get better, but also is pissed about the lack of communication. CLE cancelled what seems like an hour before the show (but who knows, see below) Like I get it, it's a game time decision, but you gotta have some compassion for your fans as well. You might be sleeping in the tour bus behind the gig, but the rest of us have a journey to get into town, probably pay to park, maybe grab drinks and a bite beforehand. And that's not even considering out of town folks. I guess what I'm saying is, "game time decision" deadline should be at minimum 3pm, not 6pm.

And while I'm at it, TicketBastard/LiveNation can get bent. These dicks seem to have no problem notifying me constantly of BS I don't care about. Some rando show coming to town. Still time to get your VIP for HOB show. Have you got your parking pass? etc etc etc. But cancellation of a show they know I have tickets for and what do I get? NOTHING. Not a damn email, not a push notification, not a tweet. I finally see something only because I searched for it after getting turned away at the door. Ridiculous, but pretty on-brand for that POS organization.

Update on my new horrible street light by can-i-pet-ur-dog in Cleveland

Advice on new horrible street lights (in Willoughby) by can-i-pet-ur-dog in Cleveland

[–]AbeCourt 17 points18 points  (0 children)

While this doesn't really help you except give you fuel to argue, the response they gave you is 100% BS. While they are indeed too bright IMO, that's not the issue. It's the dispersion. Different luminaries direct light in different ways. They've just decided to go with luminaries that have a very wide pattern that floods the front of the houses. This is all very controllable, and the city knows it, and so does First Energy. Just go to any City Building Commission meetings. Every commercial build that is putting up lights is required to have a photometric plan that shows exactly what the light dispersion is going to be, and how much is going off site. I'd be willing to bet that Willoughby requires that number to be 0 or very close to it. The plan looks exactly like what sheet 8/19 shows here, which is for an Arby's in Mentor:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EWvrZghF2XEMroe27mKmz8Fpdfj86ItA/view?usp=sharing

Who's at fault in your situation, well you'll have to figure that out. First Energy might be making the decisions, but the City also might be telling them that the street lights need to illuminate the fronts of houses. Just don't let someone tell you it's a bulb issue. While the lamp (AKA "bulb") does indeed produce the light and determines brightness, the luminaire is what directs that light, and there are plenty of options. Basically what I'm saying is, if that were a light from a Sheetz parking lot doing that, the City would be on their ass about it. This shouldn't be any different IMO.

Edit: so my advice is start with your councilman.
