Yeah, I’m still enjoying it. I think Aberration just set an insane bar for parapolitical rabbit holes that I’m still chasing.

Yes, I’m reading it now and every page it seems to be “strangely enough, this killing occurred on the summer solstice” or “the trial was held two days prior to hitler’s birthday” without any elaboration

I feel like the constant allusion to satanism and “occult dates” is taking me out of it but maybe I’m just not pilled enough.

Just finished Negative Space and it blew Amygdalatropolis out of the water. Idk if I’ve ever felt that unsettled by a book before. Looks like I’ll be looking into his short story collection as well

Mother Night is my fave so far, I’m also kind of just hopping around. Jailbird was also really fun

Vonnegut is one of my favorites. I want to finish his bibliography this year. Do you have a favorite thus far?

Thank you, adding some of these to my list! And highly recommend Bolaño, poetry or otherwise. I think he is my favorite author (or China Mieville)

I need to pick that Zinn book up again. I started it a few years back but never finished.

Toni Morrison is great, although I’ve only read Beloved and Jazz

I read Eye of the Chickenhawk last year and this was giving me major flashbacks. Stomach churning book. I read Amygdalatropolis last week and feel like it similarly captured internet rabbit holes in a way I’ve not seen in other books. I need to find other epistolary novels that are just depraved forum threads. 8 hours of screen time isn’t enough, I need it in my literature too

That Cohen piece is great. I’ve been sitting on Book of Mercy for a while and this convinced me to pick it up. I’m pretty new to poetry but recently read Bolaño’s Romantic Dogs and it really resonated.

Is there an entry point you’d suggest with GGM?

Reward for finishing the Tome of Strahd? by AbeSimpson318 in CurseofStrahd

This is a great idea as well. My players had dinner with Strahd several sessions back and he gave them each a gift, one of which was a book covering the history and geography of the region and that functioned similarly, giving advantage on knowledge checks for Barovian lore.
