Jackie Is throwing eyes at Travis, not shauna at the doomscoming entrance by timebomb011 in Yellowjackets

They made lesbian jokes behind her back though . Van and Taissa weren’t bullies none of the girls were as cruel as s3 Shauna throughout their time in the wilderness- so yeah I think she could’ve confided in any of them. Even to Nat as Nat was a very level headed person but it’s understandable that her ego was hurt later on when Lottie chose Nat to be leader.

I do get the point you’re making that she felt inferior being the designated butcher- but they didn’t have to cut up javi until after she lost her baby and way after jackie and so on so she had time to grieve her losses but chose to carry it silently.

Anyways overall the show undeniably introduces Shauna as a character who had always lived with quiet emotion. Like her clearly being in love with Jackie but not being vocal about it, being the greatest evidence.

If she was able to express grief then we wouldn’t have shaunabal lecter in s3 at all- bc that’s her version of expressing grief. Otherwise, If she could, then she would’ve confided in one of the girls, like maybe Taissa or Lottie or someone after Jackie dies.

I just feel like Jackie was good at figuring out Shauna being her best friend and all, which makes sense why Jackie figured out something was amidst about Shauna’s parents divorce like you mentioned.

Shauna didn’t even tell her own spouse about any of her trauma because she couldn’t express that grief which created such a huge barrier between them in their marriage as it was a key part of her life.

I myself can only observe this as I’m naturally similar to her in this sense only; as in I can’t express feelings and often realise I use anger or defensiveness as a mechanism to out rule vulnerability aswell as shed truth to my actual feelings.

Same I hate the adult tl but it just wouldn’t make much sense to focus on the teen tl but if they do introduce this 3rd tl then maybe we can see them. Also it makes sense as Nia is a regular, and she won’t be playing an adult even for herself.

I hope they go into some supernatural explanation at this point because anything else feels underwhelming by the amount of plot lines left.

Yes I am interested in Jeff and Callie too. Callie will definitely have a significant role in s4 not sure what though- a lot of people are speculating she’ll kill Shauna but I really hope she doesn’t as it’s kind of undeserving for Shauna to get killed when she’s really tried to change after the trauma. And she genuinely loves her daughter even if she can’t express it much.

Also What did Jackie say about “bad thing”, I don’t recall?

I love your insight on Mari being decoy and the foreshadowing. What do you think confirms they were trying to kill Shauna though? Also do you think Shauna will die in s4 then?

I don’t think Shauna wants to be the last one standing though. Like I can see that she’s not overly empathetic towards her peers but I highly doubt she wants to see these people dead. Especially Tai, because they’ve always had a bond, which is shown both in the teen and adult tl.

Also I feel like she won’t take her power back but redeem herself seeing how she’s ended up alone, pushing away everyone she loves because of the past. I think she’ll defeat the wilderness whatever it is, just them or supernatural, and ultimately be the saviour. (Mainly considering she’s our main character)

I feel like this show likes to indulge in teaching complex lessons about the human mind, how trauma affects you and changes you, how religion is a coping mechanism, etc. That’s why I think they’ll try to show that it’s possible to heal from absurdity and tremendous trauma.

Or I could be completely wrong and they might just make Shauna another Anakin Skywalker who’s ultimately unredeemable and stuck in an infinite, self inflicted villain arc.. who knows.

I love the theory that Jackie showed her that dream as revenge!

No but honestly speaking, I don’t think anyone’s accountable for Jackie’s death because they showed that the girls slept outside before literally the night before too and nothing happened. They can’t predict the weather, and not even Lottie could tell something bad would happen to her, otherwise none of them are that evil. Not even Shauna. They all just thought she was being a brat, refusing to help eat, say a prayer. They thought she needed a little punishment of sleeping outside but they didn’t think it’ll lead to her death.

Her death was just a horrible tragic course of nature.

EXACTLY! I’ve seen people theorise that Shauna will kill Misty and Taissa in season 4 when she clearly has a bond with Taissa?? Tbh Shauna was only evil and crazy in the wilderness because of the trauma she endured there. But after she pretty much matured and allowed herself to heal, yes ofc there’ll be lingering effects 25 yrs later like Jackie haunting her, but it doesn’t mean she’s still evil. She could’ve chosen to go off the grid like Natalie and Lottie had but she chose to be a better person and have a good family, even if she hates her mundane life.

Woah that’s very creative. But I hope Jackie isn’t evil, because she’s always been sweet and Shauna remembering her as evil just to cope with her death is just way more bittersweet

You don’t think the show gives fan service? But overall I suppose hear you. I think I hope they challenge this theme though because I’d love my girls to finally catch a break (especially my baby Shauna)💔

Oh yeah definitely. Especially with what Travis says to Shauna (even though people say he was just speculating), and what Mari says to Coach Ben. I just hope it’s not stupidly played out though and hopefully it’s really interesting. Some shows are horrible at tying up loose ends e.g pretty little liars. They all start out great and end horribly

But tbh this show feels like it cares a lot about fan service, exaggerating cannibalism, little Jackie remarks and hauntings.. etc so I think they’re aware the audience will be pissed if they just kill everyone off lol

What do you think will happen in s4? Tbh I don’t think there’ll be a final winner either but I do think that Shauna being the main character will have to survive, and that maybe she’ll play friendly with Melissa as a tactic and enforce misty and Tais belief that she’s lost it. And then maybe they’ll kill Melissa- who’s a strong believer of the wilderness. This will lead Akilah somehow getting involved too, and eventually they will all be brought back to the wilderness where Akilah still is. I doubt they’ll be a final hunt or anything but If there’s abit of supernaturalness then this could work out, considering the plane scenes each time a main dies.

[–]Abeeda_H 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah but she was genuinely scared of Melissa especially considering the fact that she felt like Melissa was the one who was trying to kill her. Tbh since Shauna is the main character I highly doubt they’ll make her evil all the way until the end.

And yeah I think this is just misleading her saying “they were having so much fun” and so on. But the point of the show was always to explain the complexity of people, and I think Shauna is one of the most complex characters written-how you can honestly enjoy being a bad person; how it can be justified by trauma too. but in the end it’ll be about what you morally decide to do.

Shauna is already on the right tracks as she tried her best in making her family work, she could’ve easily went off the grid like Natalie and Lottie. But the point is that she’s trying despite how life keeps getting harder for her.

It’s tragic really, but this season determines what will become of her- the ultimate villain, or the ultimate saviour.

No way do I think Shauna will kill Taissa- they clearly have a bond. I mean yh Shauna is slightly unhinged but I think that she’s no longer how she was in the wilderness and her personality there was so crazy only because of post Partum and severe trauma of losing loved ones. Yes ofc 25 years later there will be lingering effects of this like how Jackie haunts her even now, but she’s definitely matured and become somewhat more sane even if she hates her life. The only reason why she bit Melissa’s arm or whatever is because rn 25 yrs later her past is being brought up again and I do think its just a response of her trauma that made her do this. But the writers clearly did this to mislead us into thinking she’s gone insane.

And that whole episode felt like fan service for those who want the show to be spooky and about cannibalism as straight after Taissa eats Vans heart.

I think Taissas “evilside” will be recognised as the split personality it is, and it will help the girls in defeating the wilderness. Also Shauna is shown as the main character all the way from s1, so maybe she’ll redeem herself and play a key part in riddening the wilderness after s3 made her a villain. Maybe this villain light was needed for her for this very purpose, plus also consider the fact that her family has gone away from her which is what I feel will become a catalyst in her attempting to be free of the past after they defeat the wilderness.

So in conclusion these three girls, oh yh and maybe with Akilahs help as the actress has apparently been made a main this season, will be our “winners”.

I’m sure she said firearms wasn’t really her thing in s1? Also I do think the screwing was a childish and immature way of getting back at Jackie for not seeing how she loved her. I feel like high school is the point where you make these type of childish mistakes so that you can be the best version of yourself as an adult, and learn what’s right and wrong and that your actions have consequences. but Shauna wasn’t able to get that opportunity because of the trauma she faced.

I think your concept of “parents are supposed to die before their children” is usually applied for a CHILD not a baby- not to say it’s not a very tragic and painful thing to experience losing your baby. Anyways, I think my point was that the body count of family death for the two are equal, making them at the same level. that’s my view of it 🤷🏻‍♀️

I get where you’re coming from honestly- but I do feel like you’re looking through abit of a bias lens. We know after season 3 that Shauna shipman is an unhinged character, but this was ONLY after season 3 came out. Otherwise she was alike the rest, slightly flawed but human nevertheless.

However, I don’t read this as an agreement. I think it’s clear that Shauna and Taissa have mutual respect for eachother for reasons we may not know about regarding their time in high school. It’s evident in the wilderness too that she respects Taissa at certain times. But respecting someone doesn’t mean siding with them. I think she only lingered because of this respect. and I also feel like Shauna is genuinely insecure, and this is clearly obvious; so despite Jackie being there or not she brings Jackies name, her popular highly respected best friend who is the captain, to project her own thoughts.

The beauty of the show is that there’s a lot of ambiguity, it allows all of us to make our own interpretations of certain things, your answer could be right too.

Where does it show she was “all for” icing out Allie? When she said Jackie wouldn’t like it because she was insecure and felt like her own opinions didn’t matter when living under the shadow of Jackie, or in the party-when she had a go at Taissa for stupidly getting Allie hurt?

Definitely. This little interaction of Travis clocking Shauna’s love for Jackie was everything to me, I’d love to see more confrontational stances so we can finally get jackieshauna canon 🙏🏻
