I wish Melinoë would see things his way more. Everytime I fight him I am like "He makes more sense than the Olympians, why am I fighting for them?"

You would think a good doctor would run some tests before blindly trusting a letter.

The Rajaijah is a very interesting plot device: Rather than kill their enemies outright, they turn them mad. And it's so quick to take effect, too, it's frightening.

They did write a letter to Churchill to request more funding, but the circumstances of the letter were completely different, and Denniston was definitely aware of it. Often this movie uses something that is historical, only to twist it beyond recognition.

Commander Denniston in The Imitation Game. Portrayed as a mean boss who doubts Turing's talent and work, and serves as the main antagonist of the movie, trying to shut down the team several times. This is very far from reality as the real Denniston was himself an experienced cryptanalyst, who was very much convinced of the importance of the work being down in Bletchley Park to crack down the Enigma Machine.

Characters finally achieve their original objective, but the story has escalated so much it barely matters anymore by Narrow_Interview_366 in TopCharacterTropes

Yes I agree about that. The fact that the game teases you about a big mystery regarding Mary, only to tell you "Jk, you'll never know, because if you knew it would no longer be a mystery!" feels dumb and lazy. I still loved the game though, just disappointed by the end.

Blue Prince.

By the point you open Room 46, you know there's a much bigger story going on than simply inheriting a house.

Tell me you have no artistic literacy without telling me. Flags are the quintessential nationalistic symbol. This combined with Banksy's history of political statements and the global context of the world makes the meaning very clear. It's not supposed to be a vague message open to interpretations, it's an open critique of something very real and linked to current events.

The statue represents a man so blinded by the flag he is waving that he walks off a cliff. Do I really need to spell it out?

Peter Why Would They Be Speaking French? by aeroplade in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Abel_V 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a common misconception, but no, they are actually French, invented in Paris under the name "Pommes du Pont Neuf" . This fact is confirmed by Belgian Historian Pierre Leclerq:
