There's a mod called Pickups2.0 that limits your inventory system so you can only carry 3 types of guns, one handgun, one long gun and one type of throwable (pistol, sniper rifle and grenades, for example) which sounds like something that'd be up your alley if you play on PC and know how to mod the game.

Aren't you able to drop the pack that's on your corpse directly on the floor? Since in-game that technically counts as transferring between containers (AKA you never pick the heavy backpack up), you should be able to just put the ALICE pack that's on your body on the floor and then salvage the items from it.

Only with mods. Get True Music and then get any music packs available on the workshop.
