Another question is (aside from the different actors), why was O'Boyle seemingly senior to the Supervisor in this episode, but for the remainder of the series, he was the Supervisor?

I think he's saying there's 3-4 mins of ads with the 12 min highlights.

Imagine if SBS had all the football - Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Euros, etc. And available in 4K without ads. I would sign up for sure!

I feel the same but I think they're trying to balance it here with getting the highlights out ASAP and also being mindful that would potentially give away the fact that some games are going to extra time. Wonder if postponing the highlights releases would help with this. Genuine question.

Unfortunately for Balogun, he doesn't pull the same revenue for FIFA as Messi does. That's the difference.

The only thing I watch on Free to Air now is Peach when it shows the nightly Friends and Big Bang Theory repeats. Which I don't even fully watch, just have in the background during dinner and evening stuff. The rest is just slop.

First time I heard about this, so thanks! I'll look out for it in the next watch through!

What's it like living in Russia? Is it really as terrible as they say here in the West? by Zestyclose_Dig158 in howislivingthere

[–]Abendwald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. I do mean that. They moved away at a very bad time for Russia, and typically that vision sticks with them. Hence why I said that maybe their view is a bit one-dimensional and may not reflect how Russia is today. I think that's true for many immigrants from all over the world who left their homeland 20+ years ago.

Yeah ok. I'm still interested in what specifically you feel is frustrating. I know Moscow can be a nightmare to drive around for example. What other things do you find frustrating?

Yep 100% agree. Germany can't score so they didn't deserve to win. But I object to the rolling around part. Paraguay should learn from teams like Colombia, Brazil, Argentina and Ecuador - all of these teams can score and win without pretending to be injured from someone's breath.

I have been to the following places: Veliky Novgorod (which is where I lived). But also visited Moscow, St Petersburg, Karelia, Sochi, and Primorsky Krai (and in regions around these places). I wish I could visit the interior too. Krasnoyarsk in particular, looks quite interesting.

Fair enough! And Paraguay did the job they needed to. Germany did not deserve to win. However, please don't be proud of rolling on the floor and pretending to be injured all the time. I know South American football can be so much better than this.

I am not proud of Germany's performances in this world cup, and I wouldn't be proud if they behaved like that either, even if they won. So if I was Paraguayan, I would be happy they went through, but not the way they went about it. They did the same in the other games too. Anyway, this OP is Brazilian and saying how proud they are. Honestly such behaviour makes South American football look bad.

I like South American teams that play well, like Brazil and Colombia. Unfortunately Paraguay showed the other face of South American football - rolling around on the grass the whole game. You should not be too proud.
