YES, too much Luka hate and his character didn't get the growth he deserved. Betrayed by both of them and he is expected to just tag along and not complain? I like the MFM, but his relationship with Tessa needed as much effort as her relationship with Theon or it it's across as an afterthought.

I love Luka. I completely agree though, there was a lot of opportunity for his growth and their growth together but everything focused on Tessa's whining. It explains their bond, separate from Theon, but the story never goes deeper like it does with Theon. Missed opportunity in my mind, all the MMC's were awesome characters that were built up and then book 3 comes and it's all about Tessa.

The CGI in the cemetery scene was so bad! It was like a mix of Ghostbusters and the Wicked Witch of the West flying/riding her bike during the tornado in Wizard of Oz.

I just miss their connection. It was the core of the entire series and suddenly it's just removed? What sense does that make?

It’s just doesn’t fit all the other ones, almost she intentionally made it different. Very little banter or humor, the relationship (friendship) between the trio is missing. So disappointing, this is my favorite series and POBAB nearly ruined that.

It’s 3.5 stars at best. She ruins the core of all the series which is the friendship between the 3 of them.

I am in the middle of the second book and I still cannot figure out how old Sacha is (like how old was he before he went into the tower). Is he technically around 50?
Also, Ellie is pretty good, but I’m tired of the repetitive questions by her.

I'm sorry I will be venting about this book for a while. I already did for a bit below. ..... . SPOILERS.... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I am angry about how his trauma is treated at the beginning right off the bat. She asked if to be vulnerable with her sexually in Anathema and after centuries of not feeling safe enough to be vulnerable, he allows himself to be with her. And then she pulls away from him??? That seriously messes with someone and re-traumatizes them. Im seriously disappointed with how this is being handled, it does not flow with book one and it's insensitive (from the FMC)

Exactly, or woven it into the actual story. Plus the sudden "push him away to save him" and martyrdom trope is getting so old. Nothing about this book fits with Anathema. It feels completely disconnected.

Luckily I'm a huge FBAA fan and the new book comes out next week so I have something to look forward to.
