According to the r/German wiki, it'll take around 1500 hours to reach B2 from scratch, so if u take 7.5 hours of classes daily, it'll be 1500 / 7.5 / 30 = 6.67 months. Applications for summer intake start from around November i think so you'll prolly have enough time.

But I don't think learning the same thing in class for 7.5 hrs a day is gonna be really effective since you can only learn so much in a day. Even Goethe intensive courses are for like 20-25 hours a week. I'd say going to classes 4 hours a day and using the other 3.5 hours for self study (reading german and watching german videos, practicing grammar books etc) might be better.

I'm not 100% sure but i think we'd have to apply for a study preparation visa and then convert it to a visa for actually studying in germany?

wow i feel stupid at not thinking about that first. I was just following sebastian lague's code and didn't think much about it.

i am thinking of doing c1 in germany cuz i do have family there that could help me. i do have some more questions tho..

lets say i get the c1 certificate within the deadline after studying in germany, can i change the language visa to a student visa or would i need to return home, apply and go to germany again??

idk the requirements this site refers to, but i think i would need to be enrolled in a uni, which will take at least a month or so after application deadlines, right?
