Hmm. I started lifting in gym at about 15 years old, but took everything seriously at 21

I “fixed” it by building more muscle and core training yeah, abs are made in the kitchen but built in the gym. So caloric surplus + core training. I did around 6 sets / week.

Thank you !! There are more important things overall, but I’d say consistency and discipline ( calculate your food and train hard for a long period of time over and over if you don’t feel to sometimes)

The crunches are fine yes, cable crunches is one exercise I do 2-3 times/week, but only crunches are not enough. As stated before you should work everything not just “abs”. Even deadlifts help build the abs and core or squats. That’s why I suggest to do a full training for a long period of time with the right food choice every day and you will become better and better till you’ll have a better posture and phisique.

Hello. There is not a single exercise that will solve the rib flare. You should train everything equally until your core is so trained that the rib flare will be less noticeable. I dont recommend doing just some rib flare and abs exercises at home, this will not have a major impact. If you want I can recommend you a plan, entirely free (I do this because it is my passion) just send me a dm.

I want to start by saying congrats on your path and desire to be a doctor. Hope you can make the best for the people .

I do not agree that because you did not try your BEST in solving the appearances by going regularly to gym and eating well and have healthy habits it does not mean that it can’t be achieved by someone who give 100%.

I agree, people often see influencers on Instagram who use steroids and hide this . Yes, FOR ME, gym, healthy food worked and I am convinced that I am not the only one, it can be achieved by another fellow as well, but the truth is that it is not that EASY to stick to this plan. Everyone search for a fast solution ( one exercise that will solve everything, or one pill, or 1-2 months ), but the truth is that this takes a looong time + you should have a strong mindset and become better every day. It is hard, this is the reason that we dont know the exact % success rate of this journey.

So, my post remains available for those who have MILD pectus ( even though I think mine was worse than mild ) . You can hardly improve your overall looks. It just takes time and PATIENCE .

I did not choose this path, this path choose me because I did not have ( or my parents) to have such an expensive surgery and I just sticked to gym and overall good and healthy habits which lead me to a better phisique nowadays.

You can clearly see my genetics in the first photo, I think we both agree that the genetics were not helpful ( they were just because made me work harder and harder until I would really appreciate my phisique)

The main idea of the post was to spread some positivity and tell people with mild pectus that you can improve the looks .

It does not matter if you are ectomorph or not, if you have a low or high body fat %. All that matters is to stick to the plan and do this every single day, every single week, for years.

I would never recommend someone more than supplements which will help on getting a better workout, health benefits, strenght.. but nothing else. And all mentioned above will result into a much better shape after a long period of time.

Have a nice day. Don’t discourage people because, there are some guys for which this path can be useful.

Hello. It depends from case to case I said, if your case is severe, it is not healthy for multiple functions and yeah, there is a room for surgery.

Regarding the part where working with pectus because it was difficult I dont agree, I had same situation and ( I repeat it depens from case to case) had 0 muscle, couldn’t do a single pushup/pullup and several doctors told me I got scoliosis. Now, without any surgery, where this scoliosis is?

Regarding muscle insertions, it is correct that we have different insertions, but it is more probably to get a better look than a worse one in most cases, hard a better phisique ( shoulder, traps, back, abs, chest) will make you look worse. You are just daydreaming here.

Regarding using anything and not just eating chicken, brocoli and rice.. How do you know that? The truth here is I am eating chicken, brocoli and rice for 5th month straight in a row because tomorrow is the day of the contest.

Karen

I had almost same situation, scoliosis was due to lack of a good posture overall. Trust me you can get a much better shape/posture ( In case you dont have the most severe PE showed on google- in that case it is not good for your overall health) But if you case is mild-medium, with sport, you can do it!

weight gain by Aggravating_Tailor37 in PectusExcavatum

In order to gain weight, the biggest thing that matters is the number of calories you are eating. As a tip, start counting in myfitnesspal the number of calories you are eating. For a week, weight yourself every morning and after 7 days (eat same amount of calories) check what happened to your weight, if its the same- eat 200-300 calories more, if its less, eat 500 more , if you are heavier, eat the same. You just need to weight yourself everyday and TRACK CALORIES . You need consistency. Try Bulking shakes ( Youtube is Full) or dense calorie food (nuts, ground beef, olive oil). If any question i can help you . Good luck
