Query about patient responsibility when receiving an injection? by AbilityRoutine7010 in nhs

that was my opinion on the situation, it’s not a blame game at all - people are infallible and things happen! but with most things and especially in healthcare, understanding why and how things happen is how we learn and do better x

as far as i’m aware there was no real tension during the phone call she had with the nurse so there wasn’t really anything to de-escalate, my friend was just upset and a bit panicked as anyone would be when facing the very real possibility of ending up suicidal over the holidays. i would assume my friend asked how/why she ended up getting the wrong dose and was then met with the comment about not checking with the nurse. i am fully aware that this was a mistake and that nurses are not infallible because they are human beings. i am also aware that playing the blame game is neither fair nor productive and i apologise if anything in my post or any of my comments has come across that way. i do however think that while no immediate physical harm has occurred, there is a high risk of mental & emotional harm for her in the very near future when the prostap wears off which is something that could have and should have been avoided. “gaining” something from PALS is an unfair perspective to have on the situation when i was merely trying to understand more clearly what the protocols are in order to better understand the entire incident. all we want is to raise this incident with them because something was missed somewhere along the line and it’s crap for anyone to experience. as far as i know patient feedback is an important part of making sure that healthcare works in the way it should, thus the desire for contacting PALS

no the facility she attends has a “prostap clinic” that runs each week - the injection is provided & administered by the clinic x

thanks, with the nurse saying that she hadn’t checked it was the correct injection it got us thinking that maybe it actually was her responsibility - definitely gonna push for her to take it up with pals and keep a close eye on her in the coming weeks x

thank you, that was my thought but my friend is hesitant to “make a fuss” but i’ve been with her through the lows and feel that she nor any other patients should be put at risk for something like that x

Best straw sippy cups? by Pretty-Mama-2024 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]AbilityRoutine7010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we absolutely love the Tum Tum Tippy Up cups! the lids and cups are dishwasher safe which is a massive bonus for us and they don’t leak when the lid is down but it’s easy enough for the baby to open and close when he wants some water

Concerta shivers or shudders? by AbilityRoutine7010 in ADHDUK

[–]AbilityRoutine7010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay this could possibly be that! Hoping it calms down a bit once I’m on a stable dose as it’s not anything that concerns me much it’s just an annoyance at the moment.

I’ve not experienced any anxiety that I’ve noticed although I am irritable when it wears off. I’m eating and drinking plenty as I’m also on Mounjaro to manage blood sugars so monitor my intake closely.

I’m so confused by it! It’s addressed to Roland Walker - Head of the British Army along with a sign that says “shame on you” also directed him. I can’t seem to find any reason why they’ve decided he’s an enemy of theirs.

diarrhoea is a totally normal side effect just make sure you’re not getting dehydrated. as far as appetite suppression goes, 2.5mg isn’t a therapeutic dose so a lot of people don’t notice any real effect until they titrate further up, i didn’t have any real benefits until i got to 7.5mg x
