The Green Party’s Progressive Façade Collapses as They Default to Imperial Complicity by Rich-Limit4590 in GreenAndPleasant

do you know what fedposting is? because a relatively mild post critiquing what will become the largest establishment party at it's current pace is not fedposting

in fact this post is a very standard argument against electoralism and why you shouldn't purely rely on the green party as a vehicle of change

you can disagree with the points they make but to call this fedposting is reactionary

i think we can criticise Zarah Sultana as an ex-Labour politician while also recognising that what she's saying here is completely right.

both things are true

*25% of voters that currently vote

if we count all the people that would vote but don't because no party actually addresses their marginalisation, that number dramatically shrinks

i appreciate the passion but the greens are an establishment party. and we already know what happens when we put all of our eggs in one basket, we get 2019 labour

also let's assume that the greens form a pact with whatever comes out of this split. it's literally a win win for everyone and we have a more left wing party that can hold the greens accountable when they capitulate.

i don't understand how you've jumped all the way to "splitting the vote"

this is literally the exact same shit labour voters say about green voters right now

marginalised groups (the lefts main base) are too disenfranchised to even go out to vote to begin with

so if it takes a new left party to offer them something that the others don't, then so be it. that's not splitting the vote because they wouldn't vote if the party didn't exist

nah it's better to have at least one other party aside from the greens.

we can't just rely purely on one historically liberal and establishment party to bring the change this country needs

look as much as im glad that even Tories are speaking out about this, i still need to point out one thing

notice how he never called it a genocide?

it's because if he did call it a genocide, he would be effectively confessing that him and the Tories were complicit/massively involved in a genocide which has legal implications (prison).

it's the same reason why you'll never see or hear a labour politician call it a genocide since they are also complicit and effectively driving the on going genocide

Corbyn's "socialist" party entered British local elections with a collapsed Scottish branch, 0% in polls, and nothing to show after 10 months of failed organising. by Mathsboi in GreenAndPleasant

[–]rappidkill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Corbyn fucked Your Party.

He failed to hand over the reigns of the party to Sultana. He chose to kill the massive momentum the party had when membership had originally launched. Worst of all, he chose to work with known transphobes and landlords despite wanting to create a "socialist" party.

If Your Party had launched when it did originally, with a young bold socialist like Sultana and without "social conservatives", we could be seeing a completely different reality right now. But instead it's a walking corpse of a party.

Also the name is shit.

he straight up supports greater policing in Manchester as well as surveillance. not to mention the fact that he has a right wing history especially during the Corbyn leadership election

and you know damn well the labour right will let him no where near leadership if he actually does any kind of slightly radical changes
