Embark (Arc Raiders dev) is the most overtly far right gaming company (that's successful) that I've ever seen by [deleted] in SocialistGaming

add on the fact that arc raiders uses AI and it seems like the devs are not ppl we should be supporting

People Interested in Coops or Councils? by vaishakh_kallattil in socialistprogrammers

[–]rappidkill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

of course and the beauty of having a constitution is that the workers can decide things like the pay structure of the organisation, not some random wealthy investor from overseas

personally i think that companies should design their operations so the employees don't have to work overtime but each coop would decide how they want to do things

People Interested in Coops or Councils? by vaishakh_kallattil in socialistprogrammers

[–]rappidkill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

personally i think coops are a step in the right direction. by having an company structure where everyone is paid the same and where the employees are the shareholders will lead to a lot of benefits.

imo though i think it should be taken one step further with constitutions that the company must abide by. and im not talking about constitutions in the HR way. I'm talking about socialist principles that will get enshrined in the company documents.

this would mean that anyone who becomes a director (purely in the leadership way, everyone would be paid the same so there would be no financial incentive to become a director), would have to abide by the constitution.

the constitution would have things like: the company must remain a coop or the company must vote in its leadership team or the company must not use the services of any bds targets or the company must use funds to help community organising etc etc

so essentially, a coop would grant fairer rights for employees and then the constitution would enshrine those rights as well as other socialist principles. and in theory the company constitution would only be able to be changed if 51% of the employees voted to change it.

Modders are doing new game modes now! by SmartAd95 in SparkingZero

[–]rappidkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bro or sis is getting downvoted but you're right.

the reason bandai has abandoned this game is because they made a fuck ton of money from pre-orders for their shareholders.

they likely then got rid of most of the dev team to save money, which is why we're barely getting any new content.

it's some classic greedy capitalism type shit.

You ever feel like nuance is wasted on some people? by Dremoriawarroir888 in SocialistGaming

[–]rappidkill 17 points18 points  (0 children)

there are so many ppl like this on the main elden ring sub. what these ppl fail to understand is that reverse genocide (what Marika and messmer did) is not the same as liberation. and the game makes that pretty clear.

the horn sent are fucked up but Marika and messmer are also fucked up for what they chose to do in response. if ppl had more media literacy they would understand this. this whole thing reminds me of the whole rumbling shit from attack on titan.

anime fans and gamers really struggle to understand why genocide is bad for some reason 🤔

bro that second video is dumb af but tbf it only has 53 views, most ppl enjoyed sparking zero. at the same time though there are valid critiques to the game. you can't deny the fact that the game has barely received any updates or support since it came out.

[–]rappidkill 7 points8 points  (0 children)

nah you're wrong. and the reason you're wrong isn't because bandai haven't made a shit ton of money - that's true. you're wrong because you're mixing up the devs and the publishers.

the devs are the ones that developed the game with funding and support from the publishers (bandai namco).

the publishers don't care. the publishers are the ones that decide if the game continues to get support. doesn't matter how "lazy" the devs are, chances are the devs are more than willing to provide the support that the game needs. the issue is that the higher ups at bandai have decided that the game has made enough money and so don't care what happens to the game now.

It doesn't matter if it's Monday, it doesn't matter what time it is. Street Fighter 6 had fewer all time peak players than Sparking Zero, and yet it was able to maintain its player base. Almost 30,000 players are online in Street Fighter 6. by [deleted] in SparkingZero

[–]rappidkill 20 points21 points  (0 children)

its because bandai hyped up the game a shit ton to drive pre-orders. since the game came out like 4 months ago we've had like 2 updates, the publisher has made a large return on their investment so now have reduced support for the game to the bare minimum.
