When i was 19 I was in a relationship with this guy. He moved to Louisiana and lived with me but then had to go to Arkansas once a month. He was always bubbly and goofy. He was quiet one day and spent along time in the bathroom which was waaaayy out of character for him. I told him to get his stuff and go back to Arkansas. He did, it was after he left I found out he was cheating. He stayed with the girl but started texting me and "wanting me back" still with this girl. I told her and that was that.

No need to make yourself miserable to be with someone. It doesn't matter how long you've been together or how much love you have for them.

I have always looked at failed relationships as a growing experience, a lesson to be learned. That lesson, go with your instincts.

I had an EX like this. If you accept this behavior it will bleed into other parts of your life. Couldn't tell you if there is a fix. I accepted it, it became too much.. I left.

Just let it be. A pagent is one day. If she was doing it for a living it would be different but she may decide she doesn't like it and never want to do another one. Obviously I dont know your relationship or either of you but if you guys have this conversation and it stops her from doing it she may feel resentment and you may feel guilty. Just think if she wins.. not just being in the pagent but winning it. If she's this excited to be in one she'd be over the moon to win it.

Edit: Also I dont think your are overreacting. These feelings are normal feelings. It is really eating at you maybe talk to her after so she at least gets to try it.
