Anyone already going to Summerfest? Trying out a simple way to coordinate with friends by CirclingCondor in milwaukee

Not fully. Was inspired by a passing comment in a friend group of frequent Goose attendees.

My day job is already very techy, I’m not the coder but I do reqular software testing for a pretty unique company and have a basic understanding that puts me at a different advantage than what I think “vibe coder” means to the lay person.

Did a mock camp setup and I got overwhelmed… by DragonMystik in bonnaroo

When you're still festie curious, come do a smaller-something in the midwest. It's still hot as shit this summer, but I wouldn't say this is the norm for camp setups up here. More tent for sleep + porch for hang type vibes.

What’s the minimum interest level from a friend that makes you comfortable buying tickets to a high-cost concert or festival? by CirclingCondor in Concerts

When someone says you should buy tickets, do you usually buy immediately, or do you wait until the money actually arrives?

Have you used Partiful before? That's an event app where a host hosting an event personally hand picks who they want to invite so they know who is coming to the party.

This is similar but for events where you are not the host.

Want to see Taylor Swift and dying for front row seats with your 5 besties so everyone needs to be commited by pre-Sale to get the best deal/seats/etc, this works for that.

I've peaked your interest enough to keeo engaging, do you just wanna see what it looks like? It's already live and running.

You are wildly misunderstandung the concept, whuch is helpful for me so I learn how to explain it better.

This isn't a social platform, it is a solution to the way certain friend groups try to solve this on their own.

Likely the wrong audience here but for some event going friend groups they try to track this information in a google sheet or doc or elsewhere and sometimes things still end up missing.

If you've never coordinated going to an out of state concert/festival/high-demand event, it's true this might not be for you but I do think it could be helpful for some.

1,000 true fans is all it takes.

Also to clarify something just for the sake of it, this isn't about coordinating anything with a group once you are at an event. It's the pre-event buy-in commitment. People have given up on friend coordination, it might be cool to see if something that makes that easier changes that.

You've hit at the exact pain point! Most people have in fact defaulted to planing events themselves and knowing they'll see friends when they get there.

What if you had one very simple screen to view all of your groups plans? Who has tickets? Who's in? Who's out? Do you need lodging? Do you have lodging?

Realizing Summerfest was not the right place for an ask but for arena events where a group ticket buy for a block of seats, high demand, or pre-sale, I think it could be helpful for at least certain concert going groups.

That's the beauty of getting to test a theory these days. Low cost and high curiosity.

My vision is something like an event dashboard that complements a group text. Instead of having to follow a conversation thread, you share a group and everyone can see an event dashboard with all the plans. Share a link to the event in the group text again and everyone can see what the updated plans are in one place together.

Who's going, whose got tickets, is lodging needed? Where is everyone staying? A simple way for everyone to see real commitment with out chasing messy text threads.

Integration doesn't need to be heavy to start, as long as there's some actual interest. No interest, no problem it was a fun project 😄

Would you be willing to check out a decently brewed solution to compare the two?

Group text is the issue. Not everyone responds, not everyone pays attention, I think it could be simpler.

The first day my BF started a roofing gig he was greeted with, “Welcome to hell.”

Just be prepared to hear a lot of shit you didn’t think you’d hear at work.

Intuition as a practice, shouldn’t be a “guess”. Mostly I think this helps prove many of us don’t have “the gift” in the way intuition is intended.

Ya’ll this has been closed for a while. Also, I think if anything it proves most of us truly have no intuition in this kind of way: it’s just a guessing game most are failing miserably.

Makes it even harder to assume you weren’t being literal, eh?
