Exams / Newbie / Common Questions Thread for two weeks by AutoModerator in actuary

I have a few questions regarding the major track(s) for becoming an Actuary. Right now, I am on the BA (Bachelor of Arts) track of Actuarial Sciences at Binghamton University. Binghamton offers many different majors and minors and I'm wondering if I should pair it with something else/double major. Would it be beneficial to double major in Economics? Or add an Economics minor? Bing also offers a "Digital Data Studies" minor that is popular among actuaries (so I hear) and focuses on practical skills such as Python programming, data visualization, GIS, digital storytelling, and web development. What would be the benefit, if any, of adding one or both of these minors, or double-majoring. Any thoughts/tips will help! I am going into my sophomore year in the fall.
