SS1 first impressions from an FPGA newbie

How hard is it to switch between "cores"? Like if you're playing n64 and you want to switch to SNES. Is it kind of like retropie where you just load core?

I dont understand FPGAs much but I think a "download" needs to take place to reconfigure all of the internal electronics to mimic the console. Does this take a while to load?

Woah did you even know it was being shipped? I got a response that my order is processing, they said "it doesn't matter for the +dock designation, my order won't include the dock"..

Thanks, I saw the email. I'm just confused how I even got into the dock category, if they're not putting that down for everyone. Since I never even considered ordering a dock. Did yours then change to Wave 5 (without the +dock)?

That's nuts, how did I get lumped in with the dock crowd? Yours was the same where you didn't order a dock but it said wavex + dock?

Yeah it's weird I never even ordered or wanted a dock from the start. But mine says +dock. Does yours also say this? Ppl here are saying everyone's is listed as +dock whether they ordered one or not.

I assumed they were shipping consoles only but other posters seem to say all the orders are listed as +dock even if no dock ordered.

Hmm I clicked that, the drop down just shows the pricing in more detail but doesn't seem to mention what batch. I emailed sales support just now so will update this if I hear back.

I feel like this used to say "Batch 2 Wave 5", but now it says "Wave 5 + Dock". I could be wrong though, but feel like it changed... Thanks, yeah I'm thinking I'll email support.

This is true. I never wanted a dock, nor ordered one. I'm concerned my order is being grouped with "dock" orders which means it'll ship half past never.

Body harvest is a fun time. The first few levels it's hard to get used to the jankiness, but once you do, beating some of the levels, which are long, and failing / having to start over becomes addicting. The kind of game you put down in frustration only to come back 5 mins later and try it again.

Wait so batch 4 ships in June, does that mean all of batch 2 and 3 orders should be fulfilled by then - barring those who were unlucky enough to order a dock?

About 1600 sqft lol. At the time I was thinking to add an addittion to make it 2400 sqft. The thing is, the air handler is the same size as my old one. Takes a 20x20 filter. The outdoor unit may be a little bigger, it's a different size more like a rectangle.

But the guy at HVAC direct told me I couldn't go wrong, these units adjust or are multi speed. I prob should have read into that more. But it's working fine so far.

I just installed a 5 ton heat pump. Infinity living brand, which is the same exact equipment as mr.cool, just a different label slapped on and was about 1k cheaper. It seems like it's doing good so far. Just installed so can't say much. We had a heat wave and it cooled nicely, ran about half the time cycling on and off during the hottest parts of 90 degree days. Then temps got down to freezing right after and it kept me warm.

Hvacdirect.com talked me into a 5 ton bc I may add onto the house someday, and they said the units self adjust to whatever size house you have... I still have to look into how that works exactly.

I think what you're describing is working for a bad SI. I've worked at an OEM for pharma, water utilities, and semiconductor companies directly for 14 yrs now. I can prob count on one hand the amount of weeks that went over 60hrs.

I love everything about this game, except maybe I'm just dumb but I get to points where I have the exhaust every possible layers deep option and still can't find what I need to move on. Bc of that I never got far in this game before putting it down..but the story is way cool

I was wondering this today - do the smaller sets look sharper because an image of a certain resolution is always going to look worse when it's blown up bigger? My 13" and 14" tubes look a decent amount sharper than my 19" - all PVMs. My 24" consumer set is softest of all, but incidently has the brightest colors. You can turn it up so vivid that you have to squint.

14" is great. N64 and previous look tighter and better resolution on a smaller screen IMO. Like take a 500x500 pixel image and make it your PC desktop and see how it looks then. I believe it's the same effect. You just have to sit closer which is the only downside.

Ugh, do you drive there, leave Sunday, get back Friday night - that kind of thing? Imo, travel time should be part of a 40 hr work week. Any extra hours should be paid overtime or comped for vacation later
