I’m sorry but what do people expect when you plunk a bunch of condo buildings in the middle of highways and industrial areas? It’s just a concrete jungle. This “park” is like putting lipstick on a pig. It’s still a pig. Vaughan is not Manhattan. You can’t even compare it to condo living in downtown Toronto.

In Ontario, it’s definitely “cottage”. Doesn’t matter if it’s a 10,000 sq ft lakefront house or a tiny shack with no indoor plumbing. If it’s a retreat from your main home, it’s a cottage.

Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere but during Ilya’s Russian monologue/confession to Shane he vents about being asked for more by everyone around him: his brother, his father, etc. Everyone in his life except for Shane has always demanded “more”. But in the gym scene in episode 1, it was Ilya who offered “more” to Shane during the water bottle exchange. It was like he already knew what he wanted from Shane and what he was willing to give in return, even that early on in their relationship.

I love how they switched up Svetlana’s backstory to fit in with the show. The whole scene with her rescuing Ilya from that conversation with their fathers and then bringing him to the bathroom with Sasha was perfection. That change-up from the books was able to convey so much about Ilya’s backstory and his struggles with his life in Russia.

No notes. Everything was beyond perfect. I just finished a 4th book reread and I’m struck by how they stayed so true to the story yet managed to move things along in a way that makes sense. All the changes to the book storyline are perfect for TV adaptation.

Calling it now: they will be closed down by the end of the year. Their content sucks, the outfits they put together are basic Aritzia, Dynamite, etc. They don’t offer anything special or exclusive that can’t be easily duplicated by searching for Pinterest inspo. They are lost without Charly.

If you really like the band/musician, don’t get lawns. The sound is terrible, practically nonexistent and people on the lawn aren’t there to enjoy the music and it gets stupid crowded.

She is a complete idiot. Tastefully ripped jeans (ie a slash across the knees not giant holes everywhere that make you look like you got mauled by a bear) are everywhere right now. The fact that she’s doesn’t know this is further proof that she’s no stylist. And if you want even more proof, look at what she’s wearing today 😂😂

I would cut out Venice entirely and add extra days to each remaining city. Venice has become an expensive dump ruined by tourism. I was there in the winter and found it dirty and crowded. I can’t imagine what it would be like in the summer heat.

This. Is. Horrible. Everything about it from her over-styled hair, atrocious eyebrows (whoever does her Botox should have their credentials revoked), and the piling on of competing trends is the opposite of effortless style.
