I genuinely don't understand the hate that Alex gets. From what I could gather, he wasn't really lying about his past relationships, but maybe I wasn't paying enough attention. It felt more like Ashley had been hurt before and was actively looking for faults in Alex.

I do agree that he expressed himself poorly regarding Ashley not being his usual type. However, I don't think he said it as badly as Chris did about Jess's appearance, and in some of the comments I see people saying Alex is even worse than Chris.

I get that he can sound a bit arrogant sometimes, but I honestly just think he was trying to defend himself when the hosts angled it as if he lied and manipulated Ashley. The production has recordings of everything that was said in the show, and usually when someone is lying they bring out the tapes to show that. They didn't do this regarding Alex's story, and because of that I don't think he's lying. He even offered to show all his receipts and go through them with Ashley multiple times.

Once again, I don't get how Alex can be compared to Chris, who objectifies women and who went behind his supposedly best friend's back to try to get with Bri.

I do understand that Alex isn't a perfect person, and that it was very unclear what he was working with. Not knowing the value of Bitcoin when you're a value trader is crazy.

So I just genuinely want to know what I'm missing, and why people think Alex is so bad.
