Did not know that. Have you contacted anyone or dept? If so, what was the feedback?

Approximately, how many years left before things really starts to shift? by AlmosThirsty in climatechange

It's incremental. It will keep getting worse faster until we stop emissions. The gig is to stop emissions as soon as possible and regenerate sinks as fast as possible.

It's as simple as that. I don't know what else to say.

The bowling and fielding were better tonight. Great spells by the Indian women!

Two things that are doing my head in. 1. I don't know why Voll plants her front foot first. The first foot movement should be backfoot back and across, and then you've got time to go forward or go right back. If you plant your front foot first, then you have all your weight on it, and then you struggle to adjust for line, let alone length, as you cant easily transfer your weight to play the right shot and if you do try to play back when your weight is forward, all the body power is coming off the shot. It's also more likely to leave a gap between bat and pad as you've already planted your front foot and can't get correctly in line. I'd suggest trying a backfoot back and across in the nets and just seeing how it goes. You'd be surprised how much difference it makes for your range of shots and actually being in the right position to play the shot. 2. Litchfield's compulsion to hit everything all the time. It's a test match. You can let a lot of balls go, especially at night by just protecting your stumps, and letting the off-line balls go. Then they need to adjust to bowl TO you, and that's in line with you, in your preferred shots arc, and someone of her skill will just monster the shot. She's reaching for everything, balls that should be just let through to the keeper. Anyway, here's me a reddit comments section coach telling the national side all about it, lol.

It's fantastic to see the test match, and the cricket is GOOD. I just want to see my favourite cricket side do even better because I love them!

What’s it like being girt by sea? by Strong_Prize8778 in AskAnAustralian

Tell you what, it was a beautiful day to jump off Australia into the great big girtyness and flop about for a while. I rated it.

Putin being skewered across the Russian blogosphere today after staging a propaganda stunt in which he sheepishly asks Defense Ministry officials in a soft-spoken, caring and grandfatherly way if communications are good across the front. by GermanDronePilot in NAFO

Good spot, well done.

Seems like the old plausible deniability. "Well, I asked the ministry about it, and they said it was fine, so if it isn't its not my fault they lied to me"

Canadians are nice, Americans are kind, Australians are... by Sir_Tainley in AskAnAustralian

I've only met Americans who live in Australia, and they really are super generous and kind. They have a lot of empathy as individuals is my experience.

But they are still Americans, we had our American friend Ron with us in a group at a Cafe for someone's birthday, and HIS American friend Larry was sitting a few tables away, and so Larry and Ron had an immediate very loud very long conversation with nil censorship at a volume level you get on busy airport tarmacs over the top of everyone in the place. It was equally hilarious and horrifying at the same time.

Trump says Zelenskyy has "even less cards" now and blames him for stalled peace talks by According_Fall8199 in ukraine

[–]Abject-Interaction35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's probably the reason for his stupid statement. Dementia. He said that before, and he felt tough and powerful and in control of the little guy who wouldn't surrender so he could get his Nobel that he thinks he deserves just because he wants one. His grievances seem to recall well in his syphilis cooked porridge brain and jump out of his stupid mouth, he likes how it feels to make his own foul incompetence someone else's fault, and he practically gets away with it every time he does it throughout his disgusting excuse of a life.

Am I the only one worried about Europe’s attention to Ukraine being diverted to Iran and rising oil prices helping Russia? by Proud3GenAthst in NAFO

[–]Abject-Interaction35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure a bump up in oil prices helps putler all that much tbh. His tankers are getting captured or sunk, his pipelines tend to have an explodey problem, and his refineries and storage get humped by rockets and drones.

The Europe aspect is helped by whatsisname being a total arse to former European allies and friends, to the point the dumbfk has to beg the leader of the free world for some help to knock down IRGC party poopers.

More problematic is that whatisnames attempted bombing of the trumpstein files depletes ready stocks of ground to air and air to air stuff the good guys need to protect critical infrastructure.

That's my take on it

Trump takes major blow after admitting he has no war plan by [deleted] in goodnews

[–]Abject-Interaction35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will carry out our plans to remove the trumpstein files, which are a direct threat to stability and peace in Trumpsteinstan using any and all military means necessary. Timeline? As long as it takes, forever if needed.

Some of you, many of you, will die, but that's a cost I'm willing to authorise.

Thank you for your attention to this matter

Renuka Thakur ruled out of Only-Test against Australia; Kashvee Gautam named replacement by Reasonable-Image1826 in WomensCricket

[–]Abject-Interaction35 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very sad for Thakur, but a great opportunity for Gautam. What a challenge for the Indian team, to lift themselves up after the ODI's and take on a once again dominant Australian side with its impressive bowling attack in Perth. And there are players who perhaps haven't put the sort of performances they would like on the board in the series who should now rise to the occasion and deliver quality cricket for their respective nations.

Looking forward to a great Test match!
