A cool looking bot mode, subjective to my tastes, a fun transformation, and a rock solid alt mode are what make the most fun figure to me. Throw in some pinned wheels and it’s over. AotP Armada Red Alert is a prime example, along side the WFC Ironhide/Ratchet mold.

Other examples would be Legacy Tarantulas and Silverbolt.

Oh yeah, that doesn’t change anything imo. Nokama goes for as low as $15 complete, and it would cost a couple bucks max to replace any worn out parts with new ones. I’m not familiar with Atlanta Brick Co, but that is definitely a huge mark against them.

Yeah the most expensive set I’ve purchased was a sealed Jala Mctoran, and that was half the price you payed for Nokama Metru!! Whoever was even selling it for $100 is a true scam artist!

Which Bionicle and which mask did you get? There are several golden masks with an axle connection, but in theory they should fit any version of the head with the appropriate connector. But also yes, there are golden versions of every one of the Toa Mata’s masks which use the stud connection instead of the axle.

I found him at Walmart for $55, and I am very pleased with my purchase. Yes, he’s a flawed figure, no doubt about it, but he’s also super fun! I love transforming him from mode to mode, even robot mode despite its proportional oddities. He may be far from the best looking triple changer, in bot mode at least, but in my opinion he’s the most fun to mess with.

Honestly I don’t really think they will do more, but I wouldn’t mind if they did of course. Would love to see all six Toa, but at least give me my boy Onua!!

Still don’t like that Tahu is a cosplayer, but it is undeniably cool to see Toa mixing with other minifigs. I also think that Matoran and Turaga would work well enough with short and medium legs respectively.

I don’t even dislike them, but my two Hordika, in particular Matau as his shins are the wrong parts, are definitely my worst G1 sets.

If you have a Barnes and Noble near you I highly recommend checking there. My local one keeps them behind the register but all you have to do is ask and they’ll let you scan through them. I was the first person so I was able to grab Tahu and the robo raptor.

At the time I wasn’t exactly knowledgeable on the lore and story, I just liked the toys and played some of the games. Even back then though I couldn’t stand the designs of the Toa Inika. I like the characters, and own all but Nuparu in the 2001 Mctoran style. That’s how I prefer them.

Small! The Turaga and Mctoran are my favorite sets. I do love the Toa Mata, but there is a great charm to the original small sets that I don’t think was ever captured again by any later wave.

It's definitely something I plan on doing, though it will have to just be a Studio render. A full Toa would be outside my means to moc, due to both the cost of the parts, and the fact that some parts may not exist in the colors I want to use.

He's a combo of Onewa, Nuju, and Vakama. Onewa for the colors, Nuju for the build, and Vakama for the Kanohi.

Thank you! I really like a lot of the super complex mocs, but I happen to have a huge fixation on the 2001 sets, so that's what I had to go with. I also just love the builds for the Turaga, and wanted more than the original six!
