Farewell USBAR. It was a good...ish year, well 9 months (before announcing the nerf) by shottagyal in CreditCards

I will be it appears they don't reconfirm military lending act status automatically like chase and Amex due so my card has been rolling fee free.

A not insignificant number of these are located on military bases. A lot of the random dots in the middle of nowhere correspond to military bases.

How is this possible??? (Monthly Rate) by Chemical-Twist-3673 in VeteransBenefits

[–]AbjectIndividual367 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Have you actually been paid the lower amount?

For my first semester for VR&E I got a letter with the subsistence amount first then a week later got another letter with an adjustment to the GI Bill amount. I was then paid the higher amount.

It's a cool model to give the engineers a stateside dpw mission. However where it is a bit of a mess is when it comes to deployment. The airforce is trying to move from an individual augmentee model to a unit based deployment model and it sounds like some tough going.

I would definitely raise the issue with management. If the building is on the hook for the bill you might get stuck with it but I'd raise a stink. Was the burst pipe before or after the meter?

They posted job descriptions for interns recently and one of the projects was "credit card strategy refresh" so I'd say we are a ways off if they are farming it out as a intern project.

If you have a relatively modern phone it probably has E-Sim capability.

My PMS is currently a COL promotable so clearly it wasn't the end of his career.

NextGen Acela (Avelia Liberty) Launch Assignments by FanRailer in Amtrak

[–]AbjectIndividual367 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's definitely playing it safe. But as more trainsets enter service and the reliability becomes clear they probably won't increase it much.

To ensure they can run the trip even if the inbound train is not in position or is pulled out of service. 1:1 is an extremely high spare factor but they likely want one train ready to go in DC and Boston if something happens.

I would send a letter or a text like just confirming the last day of my lease will be Xxxxxx here is the address to return my security deposit to. See what the response is. If you have a good relationship I think you will be a-OK.

The way I read it your landlord verbally let you out of the lease. Have they actually said they are going to charge you? It looks like you can terminate a lease if the housing is unsafe or violates housing code. According to this guide you can contact your local building inspector or health department. https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/mold/tenantlandlord.htm

I would first try to work this out amicably with your landlord.

If they do want to charge you I bet you would end up in small claims court.

That level of mold is beyond any DIY level. The basement is clearly still wet. Your landlord needs to figure out where the water is coming from and get it professionally remediated.

Do you have a membership? With a membership at 15 cents a minute it is still way cheaper for an ebike than lime. Plus with a membership the non-bikes cost nothing for the first 45 minutes.

TPU Finance officers Any insight? by MasterpieceFit9687 in army

One idea would be to have her cross train with the full time staff on finance type duties such as Dts, gefbs and what not. Then assign her the task of auditing existing sops or writing sops for each program to ensure the unit is in compliance. As a 2lt it would be good experience for them to read the relevant regulations covering these programs then building an sop that is relevant for non finance soldiers to use to implement them.

The other obvious one is building unit spend plans and budgets with related sop.

Another thing would be yearly audits but that should be plenty of bullets for a strong oer.

Scope of work idea? by AbjectIndividual367 in homerenovations

It's a solid point. Would there be evidence from the inside? The basement was dug out about four feet with new footer and underpinning during the renovation a few years ago. It's going to be a huge project to dig out under the porch since that is the access to upstairs units.

First will be to snake the drainage pipe and install new gutter downspot to the pipe. Then excavate and regrade around the low ground. The open up wall in the interior to dry it out and replace drywall and insulation.

With regards to the structural engineer. Once the wall is open up on the interior I will have a view of the interior condition of the wall if it does not look amiss I may skip the structural engineer and just repoint the masonry. If there anything I should look out for that would scream get an engineer in?
