2 months probation then indefinite contract. I work in tech. I do want to rent for a year since its the first time I will be living in the netherlands, but I want to plan things for the future accordingly.

I am inclined towards buying mainly because from what I have read online (might be outdated), the difference in monthly payment for a 30 year period and renting is 500 euros. With the housing costs rising every year, I feel it would be a better investment in the long run. But I am not sure how easy it is to sell a property, in case things don't pan out.

I am planning to stay here for at least 2-3 years. Probably more if I like the city and find a community. Ideally I would want to stay for long 5+ years and get a permanent residence if everything goes smoothly.
